(MSNBC) Forget San Francisco (18th) or New York (not even on the list) the gayest city in the U.S. is Salt Lake City, Utah, according to The Advocate, the gay and lesbian newsmagazine.
Rather than rely on the U.S. Census tabulation of gay and lesbian populations, which inevitably yield San Francisco as No. 1, The Advocate used different measures to establish per capita queerness including a citys number of teams entered in the Gay Softball World Series, gay bookstores, openly gay elected officials and semifinalists in the International Mr. Leather Contest...

Doesnt GAY UTAH have the top two or three top divorce rate in the nation among all states?

If a man has five wives and divorces three of them, does he get credit for three or just one?
Repressed Mormons?
Why not just take an accurate scale, visit the local shoe stores and record the weight of the loafers?
You didn’t say whether or not that you’ve been to Austin. You probably haven’t.
You haven’t been to gay til you have been to Key West. There is no way SLC is gayer than Key West.
And we have heard that Minneapolis is less gay than last year.
Happy Days!
Downtown SLC, the historic district called the Avenues, a hillside neighborhood 20 blocks from Temple Square called Sugarhouse, are as liberal as either coast.
Young population, TONS of world class recreation within an hour’s drive, access to any western city within a 90 minute flight.
Yep, Salt Lake is the perfect petri dish.
The Morons are now pro-sodomite and pro-open borders. Where is Joseph Smith when you need him to kill some heretics?
This reminds me that I missed the International Mr. Leather contest last year. Hope I remember to see it this year. Anybody know if it’s on TV? Is the Logo Channel still around?
Having lived there, I would believe it. My ex-fiancee was big in the gay culture in SLC (after we broke up of course).
Well, if you know your history, San Francisco was a solid Republican city, with an uninterrupted string of Republican mayors before WWI to the mid-1960s. Then liberals flooded in from everywhere else and changed everything. This also happened to the state of California around the same time. Some of those liberals then returned home and spread their "ideals". The problem is not where liberals are coming from, but that their "ideals" are spread to others without an effective deterrent. Time to brew up a DDT to stop the liberal disease!
Perhaps they are affecting the new LDS Handbook of instructions. I fully expect a ‘revelation’ in the next 10 years or so changing the policy further.
I grew up in Palm Springs, that town is gayer than Key West.
I could tell you stories from my childhood and teen years that would make your blood boil!
Hard to believe. Most leftist, including gays, hang around large bodies of water. Thus San Fran, Fla Keys, etc.
The Great Salt Lake isn’t that big and is drying up! lol
Salt Lake City? If Brigham Young is turning in his grave, he better look behind him first.

Haven’t read the book, and not sure I am going to, but I have read other works of his.
Grand Rapids ranked 10th? That one is tough for me to believe unless they include nearby areas like Saugatuck, the Ferndale of West Michigan.
however, I wouldn't be totally surprised if this were true.....gays and liberals tend to gather where its relatively clean, organized, civil, polite, and free of masses of the unwashed....iows... where they live and who they live around is totally opposite of what they advocate....
what I seem to recall is that SLC is more liberal, but the vast surrounding communities are solid conservative...
