Aaahhh, Mr. Bates! So noble and forthright! Are you telling me he is not what he seems? WAIT! Don’t tell me if you know! LOL! I’ll be crushed if he turns out to be a scoundrel.

This is really the only thing that makes me sad I don’t have a TV. I watched DA online last year, but it will be awhile before I can do that again with Season 2. I do love it.

Oooh! Ooooh!

Yesh, yesh!

Watched Season 1 ep.3 w/ Mom & Dad for Christmas.

I ‘splained all that hootenanny to the folks (there’s nothing else on ‘cept this), and then when THIS is over, there’s Masterpiece Classic doing a reduex of Anne somebody.

Neither Mom, Dad nor myself could finger out what the heck is going on in Jane Austen’s story. Nobody could finger it out; Mom didn’t know who was doing who’s laundry, Dad just didn’t know what to make of it at all; I figured I’d leave it well enough alone.

I’ve heard said that Mr. Bates gets jail time for murder.

I told Dad when we stepped outside for a smoke: whatever you believe or think you know ‘bout Mr. Bates: you are WRONG (you know NOTHING). Bates has “scandal” in his past.

I went nuts on pointing out who the rats are, and what not.

Yesh.

I hope people are watching the show. I don’t know so much ‘bout Jane Austen. There’s another show called Downton Manor.

That one’s pretty good, though; it takes place in the late 30’s in a London richy.

Oh, I see how your are.

We all know who Bates is.

What WE - as viewers want is to see Thomas die a slow death. We’ll NOT be happy at the Lady Maid’s anguish alone.

I view the UK Daily Mail online daily. Since they have already viewed Episode 2 in Britain they are always commenting on the goings on and you get a good heads up on what’s coming here in the States. If that’s a spoiler for you, don’t look, but I really enjoy it.

If you have a divx player and you go to quicksilver screen forum, you can watch all of seasons 1&2 online. (or download them for later)

I can't wait for tonight! I love the series.

The manners and mores of the era portrayed are alone worth their weight in gold.

The Brits sure know how to do historically-based dramatic series. One of their other outstanding goodies was "Lillie" based on the liason between King Edward VII and his mistress, the "Jersey Lily", Lillie Langtry.

It's worth buying the boxed taped series.

Looks like the dvd sets have some really neat special features, too, including a bit on Highclere Castle which looks really interesting :-)

The system reminds me of a more benevolent and elegant version of a slave plantation. The incident with the girl who wanted to become a secretary and had to sneak around about it (with the younger daughter’s assistance) was very interesting. The servant girl with aspirations to climb the social ladder was heavily frowned upon by her fellow servants.

It is a mini caste system, where everyone knows his/her place and dares not go outside the box. And where it’s virtually impossible to break out and break away.

I hope Daisy and Peter get together. They are cute, but naive characters.

I think the youngest daughter is going to be a rabble rouser and buck the traditions and mores of manor life. She’s already a suffragette.

I sure hope they broadcast tonght a beginning synopsis of the various running story-line threads woven into the series.

It's been so long since the last episode that I've plum forgotten all the little dramatic offshoots that make up the whole.

My memory needs some jogging, that's for sure!
