oh, Thank God.
Thanks. I love this series tooooooo much.
Mary and Matthew had better get married real quick before Patrick proves he is in line ahead of Matthew....
You need Lydia Pinkham's Pink Pills for Pale People.
Or, as Doctor Clarkson recommended for the Spanishi flu....aspirin with hot milk and cinnamon.

Say it isn't so.......

Line of the night: Dowager to Mrs. Crawley upon opening her Christmas gift. “Is this something to remove stones from horses hooves?” LOL.
Okay, off to make my hot milk with cinnamon and aspirin?
We watched episodes III, IV and V last night. Maybe we’ll take tonight off. We’re really getting into it.
I like how Isobel Crawley stands up to her and her snarky remarks every time, with grace. She’s never cowed by the mighty Dowager Countess. I like that about her.
I have to say I think the actress that plays Lady Mary is really fantastic. Multi-layered that one...cold, proper, and snarky but then the shell cracks and you can tell she’s actually quite vulnerable, kind-hearted and loyal.
Love this show.
Thanks for the links. MinuteGal keeps the ping list.
Next season we’ll see Cora’s mother on the scene mixing it up with the gang. Wonder if Cora’s mother (Shirley MacLaine) will get it on with Carson-LOL.
It was nice to see Daisy developing a relationship with William’s father. That’s mutually beneficial for both of them.
Edith’s former beau is back on the scene. I hope that relationship bears fruit as I thought they had a lot in common.
Mary and Matthew are in for a bumpy ride. Carlisle is ruthless and vindictive. He’s going to do his best to bring Mary down and prevent her from being happy. Wouldn’t be surprised to see her involved in some kind of diplomatic row (apart from personal disgrace) because of what happened with the Turkish guy.
I still think Carlisle had something to do with Vera’s murder. But how will the truth be found out? Someone probably knows something that will exonerate Bates.
Next season will no doubt start with everyone admiring Sybil’s newborn. Babies have a way of healing wounds and bringing families together.
What of poor Ethel and the baby? I was hopeful they would bring her back to replace the maid who resigned. The social mores are being turned on their heads at a breath taking pace. Or perhaps Mary and Matthew will take Ethel on in their new home.
Pip Pip Cheerio until next season. It’s been a blast discussing this season among fellow aficionados.
Thank you, MinuteGal for whetting our appetites each week.
Daisy is not worldly-wise at all. I hope his intentions are honourable.
Oh, my, I'm afraid I have many, many months to stew about this, LOL.

I think Season 3 will be shown in England in the fall. Guess that means we have to wait.
Ol' gossip-monger Sir Richard is just too dastardly not to have him reappear later in the show. He will be the source of Matthew and Mary's trouble. He'll be back, and he'll get his comeuppance at some point for trying to trash the Crowley family reputation in his rag. He'll be branded a yellow journalist and will lose his fortune.
...Thomas will be found to have framed Mr. Bates to get his position as valet and since Mr. Bates was sparred the rope, he will be found not-guiilty on appeal and released. His wife is quite a go-getter, she already showed that when she paid a visit to Mr. Bates' mother in the first season. She'll be behind clearing his name.
Sibyl and her anarchist-writer husband will turn out to be Fabian Socialists and they will reference George Bernard Shaw, Beatrix Potter et al. She will become a suferget and her husband will be a founder if the IRA and FINALLY Lord Grantham will disinherit her. I do like the Daisy/William's father angle. She will finally get the loving parent she never had and he will get a loving daughter to support him in his old age. And she, being the lowly scullery maid, will inherit William's family farm, making her a land owner and she will acquire a measure of wealth and security.
Those are great! I think I’ll print out the paper dolls and play with them - LOL. I used to love paper dolls when I was a little girl.
You have a wonderful imagination. I wouldn’t be surprised that some of what you predict comes true.
When I first heard about this, I was like “pf,” PBS, about English snobs, it’s going to be dry as hell like all other PBS productions, but my sister brought Season 1, and I was immediately engaged. Great series!
Glad you enjoyed it. I’ve passed along kudos to several people and they’ve gotten hooked.
