Gingrich's thin skin has pushed him out of the race

Newt has the right to fight back against his competitors, I have no problem with that. However when he starts by sounding like Obama and using the class warfare card on Romney's wealth, it is just plain stupid. Now his latest quip about taxing the blind, and scraping the bottom of the barrell is just more over the top whining. I really think Newt is probably the smartest and best informed candidate. However, his achilles heal has always been his ego, and the inability to handle rejection or negativity (a major part of politics) in a grown up fashion. It goes back to his complaining of having to get off the back of the plane with Clinton and has reappeared in this campaign. I can not longer think of him as a viable candidate.

Why am I a dupe? I didn't even comment on the article, just thanked the poster for providing the link. For all you know, I may support your argument made at your post #77.

Why not think before you post the next time?

Yes when Newt was speaker of the house under clinton he did have the libs running scared. He does this time too. Problem is Mitsy doesn’t want to be labeled a lib (which he is) and Mits’ trusty minions are trying to cut Newt down as a result. It isn’t working Mitt (and Shoe) so best look for another argument (the thin skin one doesn’t work considering Mitt and your complaints) and try something from a truthful standpoint.

Adding to the back of the plane story: while refusing to meet with Dole and Gingrich to discuss the budget, Clinton was in the front of the plan, playing ‘hearts’ with Mort Zuckerman, whose newspapers then made a front page story of it with a blaring headline “boo hoo” or something to that effect.

Did anyone see Sean Hannity asking Mitt Romney about all of the attack ads the Mitt-supporting PAC had been savaging Newt with? Mitt's response was one of the most slippery and evasive things I've seen in a while, refusing to acknowledge that he could have any influence on those ads and then proceeding to make fun of Newt for even caring about it. Mitt's defense seems to be, "Obama is going to do a lot worse so he should get used to it now".

At tonight's debate, somebody should tell the slickster Mitt: "Just because Barack Obama does something doesn't mean you have to do it to." I think that line would put him on the ropes, at least as far as his talking points on his attack ads are concerned.

Well, I don’t care what color we run but Newt and Santorum are the closest candidates we have to Reagan on that debate stage.

As Reagan would have done, Newtotum must do in ALL future debates against Willard:

That is, rip his flippin’ head off after exposing his liberal record (see my post above) in Massachusettes and pathetic record elsewhere*.

(*Bain: raiding American grown companies, stripping their assets, and personally pocketing $270 million as a “consultant fee”, while shipping the lost jobs overseas. *Winter Olympics: Kicking out the volunteer Boy Scouts for not allowing gays into their ranks and demanding and receiving massive government bailouts for the Games.)

I’ve publicly posted my complaints about Newt here and vowed not to vote for him unless he does win the nomination. However, that said, I take no joy in seeing him act like this. He has a lot of smarts and has done VERY well in the debates. He should just continue to do what he does best, as that was winning for him. Yes, he fell in Iowa, but that was Iowa and he’ll do better in the south. Acting like a sore loser is never a winning strategy. I do hope he decides he has settled that score and moves on. People are smart enough to get the stuff about Romney. Romney needs to be attacked, but not by one of the other candidates. I’d like to see them all just concentrate on getting their message out to the public and forget the personal attacks now. Enough is enough!

Sound like you love Romney; just say it and go away.

If you want to talk thin skin candidates, watch any debate performance of Santorum. He really is a mirror of Obama... "I, I, I, me, me, me," whine, whine, whine, scold, scold, scold.

As bad as 2008 was, it was just a precursor. We may be looking at most inept electorate in a century. Destroying the so-called "tradition" of these early states--in place since the last '70s--is a must for the health of our system.

Nurturing decent 2016 candidates must also be a priority. The party and early voting imbeciles naturally gravitate to prior failures; well-qualified individuals are not enticed to run due to the process.

At this juncture, how can Obama and the Democrats not sweep the GOP in November?

Why am I a dupe? I didn't even comment on the article,

Okay, you're right.

You didn't comment on the incident and you've given no indication of being duped by the propaganda that was being spread about that incident at that time.

You wanna see a sore loser? Wait for Willard Flopney’s reaction when the official results come in for Iowa, South Carolina, and Florida.

Jim Robinson recently posted an article where he is requesting the following:

I'd suggest that we all stop trying to tear down the other conservative candidates in the race and instead concentrate on trying to build up our own personal favorites...So let's compare their records and their actual conservative accomplishments but not try to destroy them personally.

Me: Now please send Free Republic a few $$$ and quit the daily smearing of our conservatives. : )

But if we stay home, we are shooting ourselves in the foot.

Maybe if you're in a "battleground" state but, at this rate, Obama could well build on his 2008 victory.

So, should Newt just roll over when he can use facts against Romney while suffering the lies Romney’s folks put out? Romney cast the first stones wrapped in lies; at least Newt uses facts and the truth will set Romney free from the bid to the Presidency - I’m all for it.
