I use web.com; I have for seven years.
Based in Georgia (US), speaks English and has real people take care of any issue in a timely manner. I give them a solid A.

I've had excellent service for years with
3rd St. Webhosting. I have many clients on this service.

I’ve used Lunarpages basic hosting for nearly a decade now for a site with a fair amount of content and a forum. Any issues have mostly been self inflicted and the tech support is great. They are also very opposed to SOPA.

As the suggestions come up, I’ve been out researching the sites, and I like what I see. So much better than Intuit.

I’m in between sites right now, so I can’t speak firsthand. However, I looked at reviews a good bit recently on a variety of sites and decided to go with Webhostinghub. (Like I said, I can’t speak personally—just going on reviews.)

I use bluehost and am happy with them. Quick tech support with native English speakers.

Bluehost and 1and1 were two that I was considering. I like FatCow except for all the global warming nonsense they spout on their site.

I’ve been with bluehost.com for years and have been happy.

Depends on what you need and what your price range is. This happens to be my area of expertise :P
I would advise against GoDaddy, and not just for SOPA. Their techs really don't have a clue. I run a couple of cheap VPS (linux and windows) from Burst.Net and they seem okay. I currently use Hostdime for shared accounts (for another week) but their pricing scheme is not very competitive.
And remember...nothing is truly unlimited.
If you need SSL, look to see how much extra a dedicated IP is. If you need SSH access (linux), make sure they're not charging you to activate it. (it really is just a push of a button).

Been running 3 sites with FTP services from myhosting.com for 5 years now. Works great and cheap.
The cheapest hosting plan is $4.95 a month

I second 1and1.com. Great prices and excellent services and interface.Professional. Largest in the US or world - works for beginner and massive corporate sites. You can look at its interface compared to something like GoDaddy and immediately tell you're in the hands of pros, not a marketing company. I host 40+ domains with them. And I've tried a half dozen other hosts but switched everything to 1and1 about five years ago.

not anymore, they have quite a few options. the servers are very dependable and the support is good. I used other hosting companies and always had hassles. I found them on a list of the best hosting companies.
Do a search for ‘best hosting companies’ and you’ll find lists of the more popular ones. here’s one list http://www.top10webhosting.com/
