Herman Cain Heaps Praise on Gingrich

Insisting that this is the most critical election in the history of the United States, Cain described former House Speaker Gingrich as “one of the most knowledgeable candidates in the hunt for the presidency.

“He is an idea person. He is a solution person,” said Cain. “One of his advantages was that he was in Congress for a long time and then he left.

When he left Congress, it gave him an opportunity for his brain to thaw out. Because a lot of people go to Washington and then they develop brain freeze so he was out of government long enough that he could see the trees and the forest about what was going on.”

While he likes former Massachusetts Gov. Romney’s business background, he’s concerned about his record. “I’m concerned about the change in some of his positions because I happen to believe that the Democrats are going to basically pounce on his changes in position if he gets the nomination.”

Newt is a private citizen. He left office years ago.

But...but...but he’s got the “Cain’s Solutions Revolution”.

That’s not the sort of thing a self-promoting hack would come up with. < /sarcasm >

LOL! The truth’s a bitter pill, ain’t it? Cain thinks Newt is the most qualified—and he’s right.

The idea that having no knowledge of the byzantine rules and structures that make up Washington D.C. is a great thing has always puzzled me.

Of course you need someone who can manuever the maze of obstacles in that town. That knowledge is just as important as honesty and integrity in my opinion.

Newt’s Idea is to get tax payers to pay for girlfriends - most of his trysts involved staffers and others on the gov. payroll or benefit from government. Then he wants folks to buy his book on ethics in government no maybe it was on how great are his ideas...not. Now we have two guys with relationship problems telling the flyover folks how it should be done - again NOT!!

Hmmmm. The original title of this article was “Only Gingrich, Romney or Santorum Can Beat Obama”

Imagine that - media playing with words again.

Hate to burst your bubble but most Cain supporters I know who have made their choice are behind SANTORUM - which is why he won in Iowa and will be winning more.

Some of those who initially went to Gingrich, did their homework but realized he is not who his fans pretend he is. Even if Cain were to endorse Gingrich, it won’t make a difference with most of us.

Without a doubt, Gingrich would easily crush obama in any debate. Gingrich already said he will either have several long debates with obama, or if obama refuses Gingrich will follow obama and give a contervailing opposing speech everywhere obama goes.

Gingrich is probably the only Republican who could actually beat obama.

Cain is fishing for a BIG job now. Ambassador to Zimbabwe might make his wife happy.

I really feel sorry for her though I'm sure she knows even more about his other life.

I agree and for two reasons. Newt can articulate his positions and explain why they will work. He can also articulate Omama's policies and why they have failed. His ability to communicate complex issues so ANYONE can understand, is one of his greatest strengths. In order for changes to occur, the people will need to be behind the man seeking to make the changes. No other candidate has as good of policies and/or can articulate them as well. Obama in a way is also a master communicator, but he used smoke, mirrors and emotion to get his faithful. Our country has seen the hurt and some are now thinking with the intellect and that is why Newt's supporter believe in him. You read it on FR all the time. Emotional evaluation of Newt = OMG, he sat on the couch with Nancy, etc. I am sorry, but these kinds of people do not give a darn about our country. If they did, they would give substantive reasons why they support another candidate, or state what they don't like about Newt Global Warming position. Emotional thinking gave us Obama, and it very well may give us him again.

No they have not gone to Santorum and you do not speak for the Cain supporters.

All the candidates have liabilities IMHO, SC is the one to watch, it is a rock and roll butt kicker, if you are close or can go to SC, do so and support your candidate. SC has every type of GOTV going with millions in media, radio and mailings...and the good ole fashion push pulls via phone...it is for the big dogs..

Cain is loved in the south big time, his support would be huge in SC and FL.

For Cain to be consistent, he would have to lean toward Gingrich, Newt’s tax reform plans at least exist and are ok. Myth has NOTHING!!!

I posted the article with the exact title Newsmax had listed. As for Cain (himself) his words of praise were much more laudatory for Newt than for Santorum. Whether his supporters go for Santorum or not remains to be seen. Hate to burst YOUR bubble but Iowa does not represent the south or the rest of this country where Newt is doing a lot better. Do you have a link to the Cain supporters that switched to Santorum in Iowa? would love to see it.

Cain described former Pennsylvania Sen. Santorum as “an experienced politician — and I underscore he is an experienced politician.”
He attributes Santorum’s surge in Iowa to a deep concern for social issues by voters there.

Santorum is a social conservative but NOT strong on fiscal issues.

Cain predicts that voters could be in for a long wait to see the eventual GOP nominee emerge from the pack. “I believe it is going to go all the way through Super Tuesday and possibly to the convention,” he explained.

I agree. It is the media and the GOP insiders who want an early nominee and they want Romney. However, with the results we have been seeing and Romney's inability to get over 30%, that leaves a lot of maneuvering room in the smokey back rooms of the convention. Perhaps that other 70% can agree enough to boost someone ahead of Romney.

Anyone else but Paul, would be fine. Paul may run third party but I think he has more Independent and Democrat support than Republican support, anyway. That will hurt the Democrats instead of us.

You need an intellectual to take on the most intelligent person in the world just ask Valarie Jarrett. Newt knows the issues and can cockblock the telepromtor and chief at every turn
