A young Oklahoma mother shot and killed an intruder to protect her 3-month-old baby on New Year's Eve, less than a week after the baby's father died of cancer.
Sarah McKinley says that a week earlier a man named Justin Martin dropped by on the day of her husband's funeral, claiming that he was a neighbor who wanted to say hello. The 18-year-old Oklahoma City area woman did not let him into her home that day.
On New Year's Eve Martin returned with another man, Dustin Stewart, and this time was armed with a 12-inch hunting knife. The two soon began trying to break into McKinley's home.
As one of the men was going from door to door outside her home trying to gain entry, McKinley called 911 and grabbed her 12-gauge shotgun.

They love fat-faced guys with a goatee in McAlester. Reminds them of ... that which they will never see again.
P.S. I have friends in Blanchard. God bless and keep Ms Mckinley.

Xcellent common sense advice....well done
The dispatcher deserves a GOA-NRA nod
I claim my Okie kin as southron of course
And nobody try to say otherwise.....ever hear em speak
Crackers being bad....
Love the way that lady talked to her...lol
She needs a new dog
Dogs I have.....the perp would prefer a chest full of 00 to them
Scumbags watch the obits to see who survived and whether they’re likely to be vulnerable or not.
A widow with a little kid....easy mark.
Or not.
:)
“She needs a new dog”
I’d say.
FYI, FedEx will not pay to have a window pane replaced, even if the “brave” carrier was teasing your dog.
Thankfully, the dog was not cut by the smashed out glass.
oh yea...maternal instinct goes into high gear when ones child is seen as in danger....remarkable the woman was of the mind to “ask” if she could shoot the intruder while on the phone. I think she would have shot the guy anyway...I would have.
I’ve known a couple of police officers who shared some of the expectations the public has but they have no understanding of the regulations etc. officers have to work under...let alone the overall type of citizen to contend with and what they’ll face even in what would seem a non-threatening situation.
Thank you for your service to those in your state Ariel..be safe.....
“This woman will have no trouble finding a husband”
This woman has no need for a husband. She seems to be quite capable of taking care of herself.
They “outlawed” high speed pursuits in WV after a cop plowed into a teenage girl and killed her whilst ripping after the perp.
That’s we should all be allowed to “conduct business” as we see fit until the cops arrive.
Safe cops.
Safe innocent bystanders.
Safe “victims”.
Dead perps.
Can’t see any downside.
:)
I just checked the blogger's About page. He describes himself as "an author who presently resides in upstate New York, after a long stint in the filth of southern New Jersey." Guess where I live. Good riddance, Mr. Crook! LOL.
The blog did read like a parody, didn’t it, but I think the author meant every word of it. What an elitist, insufferable snob he is!
You’re right...he didn’t think a thing of it through. Had she waited for the cops to arrive before shooting, she would’ve been the one probably raped and murdered. The perp was wielding a 12 inch knife when she saw him through the window (peephole)!!
That blog author is a total idiot. What a waste of brains!
I heard about Hope Melton...on FR, of course.
