Love the record. Great weekend is a Saint win and a cowboy loss. LOL. The team lacks leadership. No one on that team can step up and lead the team. No one. Romo or Garrett are the furthest from leaders. Team looks at them and wonders if Romo will throw an interception or take a sack on a crucial play. He never disappoints. Please Jerry, don’t change a thing.

I think Garrett’s job depends on there not being somebody out there Jones drools for. If somebody big becomes available Jones has no loyalty. A season and a third really isn’t a fair assessment, especially with the lockout and no real training camps. But it’s Jones. He owns a bus just so he can throw people under it.

BTW that Chiefs defense was the only defense that shut down Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

Romeo Crennel is a keeper, there was another coach that failed in Cleveland, what was his name.....Belichick, or something like that?

Somebody to throw to would help. But the last 3 weeks have shown a lot of cracks in his game. We’ll see how it goes, it would be nice to see him succeed, but really I’m not seeing the core essentials in his game.

If I were Jerry, I would seriously look at bringing in Matt Flynn, to challenge Romo. They need to seriously upgrade their QB situation. Not saying Romo is a bad QB....but they’ve got nothing to back him up.

Tebow still is essentially a rookie, Andy Dalton and Cam Newton are the exceptions.

Romeo definitely whipped the Chiefs into shape. And honestly having Cassel go down probably helped. I don’t understand why the Chiefs wanted him so bad, he really didn’t do that great subbing for Brady, he was an OK game manager, not worth a franchise tag or a big trade.

My jury is way out on Matt Flynn. Yeah I’m sure somebody is going to throw a bunch of money at him because there’s a serious lack of QB talent in the league today. But lighting it up for one game doesn’t mean much.

I agree with you.

I don’t think it helped Barry with Texans that he coached OU and delivered some considerable whuppings during his years there. He was always a furriner.

We’ll see. I just get a real Kordell Stewart kind of feel with Tebow. Stewart would have been much better served by letting go of his dream to be a QB, he was a good possession receiver, decent change of pace RB, and handy in a gadget play, but he wasn’t the stuff of a starting QB. I think Stewart would have had a longer more productive and happier career if he would have been willing to be listed as 3rd WR and only thrown passes in gadgets. And the way Tebow’s going now I’m seeing something similar. Who knows, a real training camp could change all that, but right now 2nd RB with some gadget passes would seem to be a better fit for him.

Michigan State wins.

Shame on UGA for wimping out in the first OT, and settling for long FG, instead of trying to improve their field position.

I am a Pats fan, and I can see the Ryan is a good coach, but he would do a heck of a lot better, in my opinion, if he would just coach and not talk.

I like the fact that Ryan is colorful and interesting (the polar opposite of Belichick, though Belichick IS very interesting, but not that colorful on the surface) but Ryan is just too far in the other direction.

I think it puts undue pressure on his players to live up to his talk. Everyone knows the goal of every player and every coach is the Super Bowl. But to SAY up front at the beginning of the season you are going to win it is just shooting yourself in the foot.

The foot. Oops. There I go again...

It’s soooo nice to see a post-season win for the Green and White.

I would disagree on your assessment of Cassel.

Here was a guy who barely played a down of real time in the Pros and never started in college before he was thrust in due to Brady’s injury.

Being a Pats fan, I got to watch him that entire season, and he did a damn fine job. He looked better than 80% of the rookie quarterbacks I have seen since I began watching football in 1971.

He was poised far beyond his experience, and did well. It was amazing to see. Was it a one year spike in his performance, never to be repeated? Perhaps. Was it due to having a cast of players on hand in an experienced offense. Maybe. Was it due to working under Brady, Belichick and Josh McDaniels for all that time? It couldn’t hurt.

But I give him credit. He got his chance, took it with both hands and not only didn’t blow it, he shined, and did it in a contract year, too.

It was clear, after that showing, that teams were going to go after him, due to his poise (stepped right in and took a team to 11-5, and did it with confidence) size (6’4”, 225) youth (26 at the time) and huge upside (understudy to Brady, solid coaching on a good team).

I was not surprised at all to see a team go after him. I think Cassel did incredibly well that year, better than I had any chance to expect. As a matter of fact, I remembered watching him in pre-season and saying to someone “Okay. Cassel just isn’t going to cut it. He doesn’t look like he has it.”

But I was wrong. Just goes to show how useless pre-season viewing can be.

Thanks for bringing down the SEC Georgia. Sort of expected it from Vandy.

Give Tebow a full training camp as a starter, get him a weapon or two, and some decent offensive linemen and let’s see what he’s got.

Of course, my theory was that Denver was going to try to make a deal with Jacksonville to send Tebow there, but I don’t see it happening now.
