Britney Spears planning 'small, traditional country wedding' to fiancé Jason Trawick
Daily Mail UK ^

Her first wedding was a ripped jeans and baseball cap affair in Vegas, and her LA wedding to Kevin Federline had to be moved up because of the media circus surrounding the nuptials. So for her third time down the aisle, Britney Spears is hoping, understandably, for a low-key, traditional affair. The 30-year-old singer is alleged to be planning a traditional, Southern-style country wedding to fiancé Jason Trawick, 40

“Marry in haste, repent in leisure.”

Why celebrities of this sort bother with marriage is a mystery. They should just have a “contract for relationship” agreement, maybe combined with or separate from an “option for offspring”.

The basic human biological prerogatives for males is to have many offspring with their DNA, from different females. For females it is to both get the best male DNA, and to attach to the best “male provider” to help raise their offspring; and if there are many males available, these are seldom the same male.

But way back, humans innovated a much better deal through the culturally enforced monogamy of marriage. This meant that the male agreed to make children with a single female, for greater assurance that the child’s DNA would be his; and the female agreed to use his perhaps less than optimal DNA, in exchange for a guarantee that he would help her raise their children, and not dilute his support by having children with other women.

This benefited the male, the female, and their children far better than basic biological reproduction.

Unfortunately this system only works when it is culturally enforced, and both partners in a couple are seen as unavailable for mating with outsiders by everyone else.

However, with the wealthy, marriage is far less desirable, as wealthy males have far more resources than they need to just raise children with a single female; and females have little use for provider males, as they can hire as many males and females as they want to help them care for their children.

So for them, contracts for relationships and/or children are not so much out of the question. If properly done, wealthy males could make children with several women, giving them financial provision to guarantee they and their children live good lives with hired male role models as surrogate fathers.

Wealthy females could both select superior sperm for their offspring, then also hire men and women to give their children a good upbringing.

If children were not desired, then there is little or no reason they should not have a relationship contract asserting that this is not permanent, nor is there any financial obligation for either party, and procreation is not intended nor will it be allowed.

Such is the meager life of the very wealthy.

Being a celebrity boyfriend apparently removes any obligation to shave regularly.

There was an FR thread about this not too long ago based on a national survey of women. It turned out the vast majority of women do not like the 5 o'clock shadow to two day old beard look.

That is a popular explanation for groupie behavior but it fails to explain why only a subset of a population exhibit groupie behavior.

“Are there any other photos you’d like me to take at your wedding?”
“Let’s see.....we’ll get one of my entrance.....one of me walking down the aisle......one of us feeding each other wedding cake......and....oh yeah.....we need one of my pu%$#.....a shot of the old moneymaker.”

Will the marriage last longer than Katy Perry’s marriage? I’d bet against it.

As a 50 year old balding fat guy, I usually don’t comment on people’s looks. But these guys just got off a plane. Are they supposed to look all refreshed and pretty?

As also a 50 year old balding fat guy, I might agree with you...accept he is wearing one of Britney's jackets and scarfs, while also carrying her purse.
