Sorry,,

I love ol’ slab sides for self defense - but against a mountain lion I'm going to have to go with my S&W 44 mag.

Wait, what, they had to call F&G to figure out what to do??? Shoot, shutup and dig. What the he** is wrong with us? I remember an event (I think in Idaho) where a rancher did the right thing after killing a bear in his yard where the kids were playing and wound up in a whole bunch of trouble with F&G because he didn’t call first. Doing the right thing is a weird thing to do for some. What about the young lady who tried to “check” her gun in when going to the 9-11 memorial? Of course (hopefully) most of us know to check the gun laws in states we are going to or we avoid those states all together!!!!

Actually the big cats are remarkably easy to kill. If all I had was a 1911, I'll bet it would do the job in solid workmanlike fashion. For that matter if all I had was THIS I'll still bet it would do the job on an American mountain lion.
