No, I’m told that Venezuela is a great place to see and collect a very large variety of both locally common and exotic bromeliad species.

Pineapples are bromeliads but only one of many many species

Your visit sounds like fun and a view of things many of us are not privileged to see or experience

So far I am the ONLY ¨gringo¨ American I have seen in the San Cristobal region. What is great here is you have easy access to tropical fruits yet the climate is very mild. In the 70s during the day and in the 60s at night. Even colder further up in the mountains. After the BIG CHANGE here soon I see more American tourists coming as Mexico becomes more dangerous. NO sign at all of any gangs or gang activity.
