Crying wolf rarely inspires people to help again. Pranks are stupid, demeaning and a waste of precious time. If someone lost his job because he was late from his Samaritan efforts, would it be so hilarious then? What if any one of these good people had gotten hurt or worse? All for what, so that someone can laugh at how stupid they were for caring?
Remove the prank aspect by making the dummy less realistic and it still would be making people laugh but for the right reason.
