I understand that, but there are times in history when those who are best able to lead, must be called to serve by their fellows. It's happened before, and it's happening now.

I myself was ganged up on by several key Tea Party organizers in my town and begged to run for city council. It took quite a lot of effort on my part to resist their persuasions.

I can only imagine the pressure Palin's under to reconsider right now. It's anyone's guess whether she'll continue to resist that call or not.
