Mark Simone has reported on his twitter that liberal radio host Lynn Samuels has died.
Of loneliness?
Never heard of him.
Sad. I used to enjoy her verbal sparring battles with Bob Grant and Steve Malzberg in the golden days of WABC 770 NYC.
I never liked her, but it’s still news.
I loved the way she vilified Clinton. She had no use for him.
I thought she was Clinton supporter?

I remember her as a lead in before Rush on WABC & also with Barry Farber.
I wonder if she got her 79 virgins?
I did enjoy listing to her show and her sparring with the other hosts.
I met her once in Penn station quite by accident. We spoke for a few minutes before she had to head to WABC for a show. She was very pleasant and thanked me for listening even if I didn't agree with her.

I didn’t follow her closely but during the impeachment days I could catch WABC at nights. She was unstinting in her criticism of Clinton and Hillary for her cattle futures nonsense. I suppose she may have seen him as less worse than a Republican. A lot of Dem commentators got their shorts in a wad during the impeachment follies.
I don’t suppose she had any coherent political philosophy. Just whatever was current on the Upper West Side.
She was a birther!

I recall Bob Grant saying that he was friendly with her father.

Yes, Lynn first met Bob when Bob visited their home for something, before she was a radio host.
Despite being hated by many of the callers, and even some of the hosts at WABC, Samuels street-wise attitude and quick wit enabled her to manage through it all. She was fired for a brief time when, while being paired up with conservative veteran talker Barry Farber, she lost her cool and called for the assassination of then-president George H.W. Bush...
Samuels was then fired a third time from WABC on August 22, 2002. Although the station claimed budget cuts were the reason for her canning, many believed the real motive was to silence her progressive voice during the build-up to the the War in Iraq. At the time, she was on only once a week, on Saturday mornings.
The Sirius Satellite Radio network quickly hired Samuels in 2003, and she had been broadcasting from there ever since. Despite being on the Sirius Left channel, Samuels took no favorites and bashed Democrats when she saw fit, including dropping a c-bomb on then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Same here.
more: Samuels was very critical of US President Barack Obama, and even questioned his natural born status. Many of the progressive listeners to Sirius Left complained that she was not far-left enough for the channel. She was moved to Sirius Stars in May 2011.
