The Rolls-Royce has always had a history of elegance and class - until now.
That prestigious reputation has been smashed by the world's most vulgar makeover of the company's iconic Ghost model.
An Italian fashion design house has created a gold-covered monstrosity costing more than £1 million
The Fenice Milano 'Diva' has been spray painted in 24-carat gold and the company is so proud of it they have described the model as a 'true.masterpiece.'
It is fitted with the same 6-litre twin-turbocharged engine of the Ghost, giving the saloon more than 560bhp and a top speed of 155mph.
Fenice Milano believes their Rolls-Royce is a 'synonym for class, elegance and style'. many would disagree.
The interior has biscuit leather and 24-carat gold throughout. The standard Ghost costs £220,000 but the Diva is now for sale at £1.05million. Phillip Brooks, a Rolls-Royce historian, described the car as 'bizarre' but also 'spectacular'.
He said: "I think what Fenice is doing with the Ghost is quite interesting. It's certainly a case of gilding the lily, but the gilding job looks pretty good.
'My personal taste doesn't run to something like a Diva, but I think it would be great fun to show up in one. All in all, perhaps a slightly bizarre car, but a very neat one.'

Good point.
Hardly the first Rolls Royce with gold plating. Some have taken it farther using solid gold pieces.

The plebeian chrome-plated door handles, trunk-lid trim, hinges and hardware on the rear picnic tables were replaced with 265 pounds of solid 18K gold
If any consolation, most of the value of the car is actually in the gold.
For the real ghetto look it needs red primer
Typical incompetent reporting. The ignorant reporters are big on hyperbole and short on real knowlege. Paint, plating, what's the difference? At most there is probably a few thousand dollars of gold invoved.
24 Carat gold Rolls? Hardly.
Wasn’t there a 57’ Chevy with gold trim that looked really sheik? I’d rather have the 57’.
The one word that describes this ‘piece’ would (rightly) get me thrown off of FR.
You’re a bad speller, for a Canadian.
Let ‘em try to follow my Wrangler some time.
Never been there, got close at Loring, AFB Maine, when I was in the US Air Force years ago....
You don't like gold grillz?
"What am I supposed to haul my dogs around in, a Rolls Royce?"
ha, try to even drive it on Chelsea Blvd
He also told me that he loved taking women for rides in the car..especially if they were wearign a skirt..for the sheer pleasure of watching them climb in and out of the car..
Does it come with a Class III hitch?
I’m diggin the ride Tom Cruise rolled up to the hotel in the new Mission impossible flick.
Really cool auto.
I have a Jaguar S Type. The laminate on the wood inside started turning pink so I took it to the dealer. He said they would give me a loaner Jag so they could have the wood sent off and redone. I asked why they didn’t just replace all the pieces that were bad. Apparently the wood is all matched and if they replace one piece they have to replace it all. Who knew?
