Stand With Arizona
Just one day after announcing his intent to try and block the Federal "Secure Communities" program, the mayor of "Sanctuary City" New Haven, CT announced he would be asking the state legislature to grant illegal aliens in New Haven the right to vote in municipal elections.
Mayor John DeStefano argues that illegal aliens who live in New Haven pay local taxes and their kids go to school in the city, and deserve the right to vote:
DeStefano said he plans to lobby the state for a resident voting rights bill that would allow any resident of New Havenregardless of immigration statusto vote in municipal elections in New Haven. He said hell launch the effort during this upcoming legislative session, which runs from February to May. This bill is about how you define community, and how you define responsibility in community, he said. The Fifteenth Amendment (Amendment XV) to the United States Constitution: "Section 1. The right of CITIZENS of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."
But why should the mere Constitution give this far-left mayor any pause? He has already turned immigration laws on their head.
DeStefano, made national headlines in 2007 when the city approved a program that provides municipal identification cards for all residents -- including illegal immigrants -- to provide access to services such as banking and the library. The cards have also been used for illegals to - ILLEGALLY - access WIC, food stamps, free diapers and other welfare benefits funded by both Federal and state sources.
Below: The New Haven Municipal ID Card, which brought thousands of illegals to the city, and helped drive crime rates to record levels.
The ID card for illegals has been a huge draw for illegals, who have come into New Haven by the thousands in the past 4 years. Official estimates place the number of illegals - mainly Ecuadoreans - at between 10,000 and 12,000, but dissenting experts place the figure closer to 20,000 - a staggering 15.5% of the city's population.
How have these new additions to the city impacted it? In just 3 years since the ID was offered, thank to illegals stealing jobs, the unemployment rate has risen at TWICE the national rate - with poor and lower middle-class blacks affected the most. New Haven's murder, assault and robbery rates DOUBLED, and the city is now the 4th most dangerous city in the U.S., according to FBI stats, and is posied to replace Hartford as Connecticut's murder capital, for the first time this year.

Suggesting such a thing should result in calls for the Mayor’s impeachment, public outcry, and possibly criminal action. It is odd to consider that this doesn’t seem to happen, it is distrurbing when considering the reasons why.
If you realize that New Haven is the home of Yale University, it all makes sense.
This was attempted in looney bin San Francisco and it was overwhelmingly defeated by voters!
