Explaining Newt
PJ Media ^ | December 12, 2011 | Roger L Simon

"A good portion of the right-wing punditocracy, Beltway sorts especially, appears to harbor a deep dislike of Newt Gingrich. They can’t believe he is currently the frontrunner for the Republican nomination and are doing everything in their power to enlighten the great unwashed about the multiple inadequacies of this man and knock some sense into them (us) before it is too late."

What about Romney’s “multiple inadequacies?”

I agree with him up until this point...

And I would like to add — and perhaps this disqualifies me — that I don’t care who is more or less conservative, who is a RINO and who is not, or what kind of libertarian someone may or may not be. I think when your ideology has become rigid, you have checked your brains at the door. If you want proof of that, just look at today’s liberals. Their ideology has been extinct for years and they are walking around like the living dead, trying to preserve the welfare state and the vision of Lord Keynes while the whole world crumbles around them.

However...to some degree, I know what he's saying. Leftist ideologues are dangerous to the nation. Right wing ideologues, while they may agree with me, aren't always the best politicians, because they cannot get things done.

I think that what the GOP elite don’t understand or refuse to understand is that they want Romney. We know they want Romney.

And we don’t. If they get there way it will be ‘08 all over again.

“Listening to Newt Gingrich for four years, however, is an intriguing prospect. The man has a (Teleprompter-free) mastery of the English language well beyond any American politician of recent memory. And when you have a mastery of language, it generally means you actually have something to say.

That alone may be worth the price of admission.”

Hear, hear.

Newt has shot to the top for one reason- his debate answers.

He GIVES STRAIGHT ANSWERS TO EVEN THE SILLIEST OF QUESTIONS

If we had these endless debates of all the candidates sitting there telling us how they will all ‘fight for us’ I would have gone nuts.

Newt gets up there and slams the libwhore media talking heads for the idiocy of their questions, and slams Obama straight out calling him and incompetent boob. NONE of the others do this- they all talk in platitudes and political-speak about how they will “fight for us” (heck, I think Obama even says he will “fight for us”)

I think it’s just DAMNED, UN-AMERICAN! I think that “they” think and their candidate (Romney) thinks we’re obligated to choose him. It’s his right! I may be un-washed but I’m not the “stupid” un-washed!

Snips from the article, which is excellent:

Sure Gingrich has an idea a minute, many of which are bad, but at least he has ideas. At least he is thinking. And — guess what — he says what he thinks. Politicians aren’t supposed to do that.

Refreshing. Intriguing. Stimulating. Bring it on, Newt.

But Gingrich reminds me more of a Steve Jobs or a Richard Branson than he does of a politician, and that is a good thing because politicians these days are the kind of people that make me want to bang my forehead against the desk.

Man...do I ever agree with this. I am SO sick of the political class across the board. And even more sick of the constant Left-Right bickering that's reached a ridiculous fever pitch.

I'll take Newt with all his quirks and flaws and sometimes far-out ideas over all of the hidebound, stuffy, lawyer-type pols of both parties in DC and Sacramento (my state capital) put together. At least, like the author says, Newt wakes us up and makes us think. Having him as president will be a roller coaster ride, but maybe that's just what we need at this moment in history.

My favorite line;

"Gingrich once delivered them to the promised land, taking control of the House of Representatives and impeaching a Democratic president."

Lets see? In my world I would prefer Newt to represent me to the world or the knee bender we are stuck with by the LIBERAL MEDIA they elected him an they perpetuate his stupidity an lack of common sense.

Step 2 who would you prefer Mrs Gingrich or Michelle who hates America.....One who publicly supports her husband or 1 who looks at her husband as a fool?

An remember they both have a record of accomplishments. Obama of spending us into bankruptcy and Newt who gave us 3 years of balanced budgets?

Does Newt have supposed BAGGAGE? Please be kind enough to explain to me exactly who is perfect? To my knowledge the last perfect person born on this planet was named JESUS CHRIST.......An much as Obama thinks he is he certainly is not.

Now liberal media please explain to me why we all know which hair products Newt uses?
But we have yet to meet anyone who was in any of Obamas classes in College?

We know how many divorces Newt had had.
But we do not know now how Obama sneaked into college for free? An under what name was he admitted?
We know exactly how many papers Newt wrote as a Professor.
We have yet to see 1 paper written by Obama or Barry Soto when he was supposed to be a Constitutional Lawyer?
We know exactly what Newt did to get a balanced budget and dissed a lot of people to get it done.
We also know all the failures Obama has brought into everyone’s life. Like Sebilius,Holder et all
Newt openly explains his failures Obama thinks he is perfect.

So when you read the trash given out by unanswered murder suspects like Good Morning Joe who was suspected of murdering a asst never ever forget everyone has BAGGAGE.......Right Joe Scarborough.......................

It’s funny how the GOP elite has such an entitlement mentality.

They want Romney, simply because its his turn. It’s how we got Dole too. I remember Tsongas leading before he had his heart attack and then getting stuck with Dole.

We got stuck with McCain too - his turn again.

I think one of the reasons why Coulter wants Christie so bad is because it appears that Christie understands the degree to which the middle class has been repeatedly raped.

Newt seems to get that too. The Press has had their thumb on the scale since Cronkite, knows their credibility is shot, and is running against them. It’s working.

Meanwhile, Romney essentially saddles us with Obamacare, and can’t admit the mistake. I don’t care what Romney’s credentials are - this is a deal breaker.

Amnesty is another one. I can forgive Perry’s gaffes. What I cannot countenance is defending the DREAM act and amnesty. One look at Europe tells you all you need know about unchecked immigration. What Islam could not accomplish in the 17th century they very nearly have accomplished without declared military force in the 21st.

We are tapped out. Period. No more bailouts, no more asking us to compromise our views on marriage. Somebody needs to make a concession TOWARD the middle class in some new meaningful way.

They say females in the military would be a net benefit? Not judging by the cost of all the NJP being handed out on sexual misconduct and harrassment by both sexes. How many Navy unit commanders have been relieved in the last two years due to sexual misconduct of some sort? 22 at last count?

Can’t say ‘Merry Christmas’ at school or work.

The list goes on.

Newt seems to get it, and he’s working it like a rib.

It comes to light, and only this year, that Congress has been trading on insider information, and beyond knowing that this has been going on.

Hello? GOP? We aren’t stupid, and we know you are up inside us all the way into the small intestine. We are going to vote for a guy who gets it, because we aren’t insane. We know we are being robbed.

If you force Romney on us, then we are coming after you.
