... created with just a permanent marker and a LOT of time

They may look like the sketches of a madman with too much time on his hands.

But these stunning landscapes are in fact a labour of love for German artist Heike Weber - who used permanent marker pens to draw on acrylic floors and walls

The art installation series, called Utopia, has transformed a dull and dreary apartment in Neumünster into a surreal landscape of visual depth and complexity.

Also not a good room to walk into if you’ve been out drinking all night.

Maybe those fumes are what inspired him and kept him going.

Our daughter did that to her bedroom. After bleeding through several coats of paint, we finally got help from Home Depot. A bucket of “Kills” did the trick!

This looks like the graphical version of the mental disorder known as “logorrhea,” in which the sufferer cannot stop talking or writing. Could even be a form of Autism. (No, I’m not “really joking...”)

At least it doesn’t look like artwork from H.R. Giger. He’s the one who designed the creature from “Alien,” and did the “Brain Salad Surgery” album cover for Emerson, Lake, and Palmer.

His stuff is very creepy.

By happenstance I just showed Brain Salad Surgery album cover to my kid this morning.

And, ummm, I like it.

Does that make make me creepy?

Perhaps if the DailyMail writers had any brains and/or did some basic journalistic research they'd know that "Heike" is a *female* first name...and then it all starts to make sense...
