Not cool, Wisconsin.
Michigan has spoken: There is only one Mitten State, and we’re it.
The appearance of a Wisconsin-shaped mitten on TravelWisconsin.com, part of a tourism promotion, has raised some eyebrows on this side of our shared lake.
It’s not that Wisconsin is entirely un-Mitten-shaped. If you squint your eyes in just such a way, perhaps after a few too many cans of Milwaukee's Best, you can sort of see where they’re coming from. But come on: Michigan is so obviously the Mitten State, it’s barely worth arguing. And Wisconsin already is conceding defeat.
“The mitten was used as a single creative element; you guys still own the mitten,” Wisconsin Department of Tourism spokeswoman Lisa Marshall told the Kalamazoo Gazette, adding that Wisconsin residents also consider their state Mitten-shaped.

Wisconsin looks more like a clenched fist.
This suggests ad campaigns like "Virginia is for lovers, Maryland is for crabs" (possibly even more offensive).
As a life-long Wisconsite, I gladly cede title of the “mitten state” to Michigan. Sorry, I can barely keep my eyes open regarding this so-called squabble.

Seems kind of odd that someone in Wisconsin would come up with that unless they’re trying to pull a fast one and go with the union fist logo that the lefties have been using there.
I’ll go with the one that looks like a mitten from the space station. No “lines on maps”.

Wisconsin as a mitten looks more like one that has been run over by a truck. I can imagine it as Santa Claus with his bag of toys reaching up to hang an ornament on a tree, perhaps. Especially if that map would include Washington Island. Don’t covet Michigan’s map, we’ve lost enough already!
Jealous.WI will NEVER, EVER be a mitten. We have our map on our hands. :) I live right——>here.
