Yeah, of course the Rose Bowl should be undisputed queen of bowls. Everyone knows that they have the best teams out West. Havent they won like the last 5 or six National Championships!? Oh, wait, that would be the SEC. Sorry. My mistake......hehehe. The USC Trojans don't play the SEC very often, but their record vs. SEC teams is 17-10-1.

“It will be much more entertaining than watching LSU beat Ok. St. 85-0.”
You have no basis in fact for a bulls### claim like that.
I love the bravado of the offenseless SEC

FEAR THE SMURF!
Agreed - they got hosed. And if they were in the SEC they'd be able to recruit more blue chips - look what they've done with less recruited player. I don't buy that "they'd be 6-6 and losers all the time" stuff - give Coach Peterson a few years and you'd rue the day they came into the SEC. No team has done more with less recently. Matching them with ASU while giving Me-Chicken and a team they already beat (i.e. UGA) better bowls just plain stinks.

I'm no fan of the BCS, but I think it's an improvement over the method used to pick national champions in prior decades. The period from 1980 until sometime in the mid-1990s was something of an anomaly, because the AP anc Coaches' poll system was biased towards independent schools for national titles. This was because the major conference champions were locked into specific bowl games, while top independents always had the ability to accept a bowl bid that matched them up against a #1 or #2 ranked team. This is why teams like Penn State, Miami and Notre Dame had a disproportionate number of national championships in that era compared to any of the conferences.
It was rare for a Big Tem or PAC-10 team to win a national title back in those years, because the champions from those two conferences got automatic Rose Bowl bids and never had the ability to play a #1 or #2 team from another conference, or among the independents.

Why even have rankings if they mean nothing in selecting which teams go where? With the current system, if you're a big named school from a major conference, as long as you finish better than 500 can you spell M-O-N-E-Y ? they couldn't care less about which team is the "champion". If you are Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Alabama, Ohio State, Wisconsin, USC...etc, chances are that if you even have an average season, you'll be in for some post season play. The reason for that is because these, and some other, teams have huge followings with huge bucks.

Pardon me, I believe the Georgia Bulldogs were defeated by a Mountain West Team named Boise State this year. Please correct me if I am wrong.

VV... You seem to be a big LSU fan, so help me out with a memory lapse I have.
Many years ago, LSU had a coach named Charlie ________?. He developed a fantastic defensive squad that seemed to crush every opponent. That defensive group was called the “Chinese Bandits”.
I’m pretty sure the coach’s name was Charlie, but I just can’t recall his last name.
