I don’t keep up with popular culture, so I’ve never heard her, but ALL the younger folks I know think she’s a great singer.

She don’t know nothing about fine American beers and Californian wines. No soup for her!

I agree. Mass market America beer is piss. Budweiser, Miller, Coors, Schlitz... *ARE* barely more than pisswater.

That said... smaller, more specialized brewers are the way to go!

(Though I can’t stand lager. My weak spot is hard cider.)

“NOT Budweiser, Miller or similar ‘National’ brand,”

She got that part right!

Buy good US microbrews and/or brew yer own!

I just don’t care for wheat beer.

I like their Pale Ale and Porter (especially the Pale Ale - bottle-conditioned isn’t quite cask-conditioned, but it’s easier to take home), but my favorites among beers that have a reasonably wide distribution are Brdgeport IPA and Boulevard’s Bully Porter.

RE: “England has the worst beer in the world; nasty, warm, sticky stuff with various forms of pond life in it...” John Cleese from 1982 commercial

That’s 100% true. That same beer, two blocks up the road. properly managed and mainted at appropriate cellar temperature (about 55deg F) is the best beer in the world.

Caring for cask beer takes skill.
