Predictions: What will be Newt's first act as President?
Vanity

Posted on 12/06/2011 9:43:13 AM PST by donna

Newt will call for a Global Conference to seek agreement on Global Warming.

1) This will signal to the international community that he is a player.

2) Being an instant enemy with the religious right and the Tea Party will work in his favor.

3) A Warming Treaty will be an immediate revenue generator without raising taxes.

A hunch that Newt is a liberal pander bear who has a emperor complex

and that our opinions won't matter much since he and his intelligentsia buds of all political stripes, like Nancy Pelosi, are much smarter than the little people

So if accepting that global warming is manmade is what is good for us, shut up and take your medicine

Congratulations,your dimwitted remarks sit well with the libs and guarantee 4 more years of tearing up the Constitution. Newt is flawed in some ways but so far has the balls to stand up to the media and the rest of the libs.It’s getting to be like DU in here.

On his first day, Newt will pinch himself, wake up and discover it was all just a dream. The media will have lots of dirt to throw at Newt if and after he is nominated.

I think his first act would be an executive order establishing a political and economic union with Mexico and China. We’d still keep DC, but our bureaucrats would officially answer directly to Mexico City and Beijing instead of doing it under the table for bribes.

Or maybe he’d take away our guns first to keep from being shot?

Tough call.

I read Newt’s first statement on global warming years ago. He was only paying general rhetorical lip service to the global warming herd while disagreeing with them on reactions. He’s a politician, and he’s against signing on to any anti-business agreement regarding global warming.

Thanks for the post. It answers the question asked.

You're welcome. Not that the delusional Newt haters on this thread were really interested in the answer.

13 posts before a sensible reply.

Thank you. I would love to see Newt implement all of these things.

And based on that, a Global Conference to seek agreement on Global Warming sounds just about right, don't you think?

Newt has already stated repeatedly that his first act in office will be to sign between 150 and 200 executive orders getting rid of all of BHO’s czars and rescinding as much of his damage as possible. That will be done within 4 hours of being inaugerated.

I think the first thing he should do is make a public apology to the UK for the childish and mean spirited behavior of Hussein Obama when he returned the bust of Winston Churchill .... and ask if we may have it back to be displayed in the White House in a position of honor.

I'd say most of the replies on this thread about Newt are pretty accurate. Truth is, the good things Newt accomplished in the 80's and 90's are part of history. Newt 2011 is a different political animal then he was 15-30 years ago.

Newt is a big govt Republican and a situational conservative, aka.cafeteria conservative, with a neo-progressive streak that keeps getting him in trouble with the rightwing. Newt is undisciplined and far too often places expediency over principle. In the last decade or so Newt has has displayed progressive tendencies again and again:

* supported anthropogenic global warming
* supported universal health care
* supported the Individual Mandate.
* supported Bush's prescription drug program
* joined Bush43 in supporting the McCain-Kennedy Comprehensive Immigration Reform
* supports amnesty for millions of illegals
* supported TARP
* called the Ryan budget plan, "Right-wing Social Engineering"
* endorsed liberal "Dede" Scozzafava over the conservative Doug Hoffman in NY23 election
* Newt supported ESC research and the need to have govt funding
* supported cap and trade, then supposedly flipped
* Newt has publicly stated, "The Era of Reagan is Over". If the Era of Reagan is over, then the era of conservatism is over too. I don't buy it and I don't buy what Newt is selling. Newt's worn out his welcome.

Imo, the era of Newt Gingrich has been over for the last 12 years!

"And based on that, a Global Conference to seek agreement on Global Warming sounds just about right, don't you think?"

We might as well. Those conferences haven't settled the matter, yet, and the UK's most angry about that (no empire for them). Even Canada refuses. China generates more whatever (pollutants) than all of the rest, and globalism is defaulting anyway. There won't be any big deal made. Tomorrow, nationalism everywhere.

As for environmentalism against new, small manufacturing starts, our local and state government Republicans and Democrats have done the most to prevent us from getting to work (only monopolies allowed--foreign operations preferred). Rah, rah, sis, boom, bah.

We've been saying, "Starve the beast." But you know, the B already starved herself (government-linked business at all levels, using government as a tool against potential competition). I'll work for her, when she's much more needy. She can buy my products then. But for her, no $ale. No government incomes, no pensions, no big real estate (property taxes), no sustainable revenues for any of those rackets (manufacturing).

Kindly ask the British to return the bust of Winston Churchill to it’s rightful place in the White House!

Newt has his negatives but sometime between yesterday and today, I’ve decided not to bash, deride or post bad stuff about any of our candidates.

We ought to be ashamed. Any one of them can beat Obama and any one of them would be light years better than he is.

It’s time to unite and stop bickering.
