If you have so much faith in the Conservatives in the Republican Party, how does all of that explain the great drop in Cain’s poll numbers?

A few weeks ago Cain was polling at 23% among likely Republican primary voters and a few days ago he was polling at 6%.

Again. please explain to me how these fine conservative Americans who just a few weeks ago were supporting Cain were so easily manipulated by the Alexrod/Rove/ Conspiracy Media Machine?

Many of those people were what I call drive by Conservatives, who latch on to anything they believe is a winner at the time, it will happen to Newt as well in the next few weeks as he is and was part of the same political machine, no matter what the Rove/Republican Machine will make damn sure we get Romney because they are no interested in winning in 2012, they want 2016 and we know Jeb is waiting in the wings.

You raise a valid point, the same one I raised the other day when I asked, “if we are so willing to accept these allegations against Mr. Cain with no more proof than we’ve seen - what does that say about US?”

I think the answer is, many conservatives transferred their own weaknesses onto Mr. Cain, and figured that if *they* had been in his position of wealth and power, they would have cheated and done these things, so by transferrence, Mr. Cain must be guilty of them as well.

A psychologist could probably give a better explanation, but it’s the same reason that we tend to believe gossip and rumors even about people we know, rather than suspending judgement until the actual facts are known.

Smearing a person is so easy to do! But trying to disprove a smear puts the accused in the position of either being condemned for remaining silent, or being defensive if they try to clear their name. Sarah Palin can tell you all about it...

I’m just saying, the reason lies within ourselves.

“A few weeks ago Cain was polling at 23% among likely Republican primary voters and a few days ago he was polling at 6%.”

Frankly, I will no longer be persuaded by any poll at all. I no longer believe in being ‘told’ anything. Either we believe it ain’t over until it’s over or we don’t.

I barely watch even Fox. My news comes from here, The Blaze, Drudge and FOREIGN sources. The individual stories about experiences and opinions coming from actual people out in “the field” resonate more than any pundit.

I am certain you at least partially agree, since you post here on FR.

I am honestly insulted that our “betters” assume we don’t read, think, or otherwise come to an understanding of our principles as a result of our exploration and research. I no longer stomach those who deny or refuse to consider alternative views.

0bama’s legitimate candidacy for POTUS was introduced by 0bama Girl’s “I love Barack 0bama,” which HE (or someone for him) paid for. A White, big-breated woman. On YouTube. Since when does this tactic represent legitimate politics in this country?

Now, 0bama comes up with the “I’m in. Are you in?” sexually suggestive/common gambler’s phraseology double entendre as a legitimate campaign slogan. No doubt he’ll use “Love to Love You, Baby,” “I Am So Into You,” or “In the Mood” as his theme song.

/Rant

Because people are people; humans are humans. Being Conservative does not make one immune to believing innuendo and rumor. And being Conservative does not make one immune to advertising — i.e., repeat a lie over and over again enough times, and it becomes someone’s truth.

Two examples of people being human, and not being immune to believing the bullcrap put out by the enemedia:

Example #1:

9-9-9: The enemy argued that it was bad because there was nothing to stop it from becoming 10-10-10 or even 30-30-30. Well 9-9-9 may have been bad, but not for that reason. Tax structures don't raise taxes, politicians (and/or voters) do. By their reasoning, there is nothing to stop our current tax structure from becoming a 75% tax. Additionally, they argued that “the voters” will never approve a National Sales Tax. Yet those same “voters” somehow managed to approve STATE Sales Taxes in all but FIVE states. So apparently a good many voters didn't have a problem approving a Sales Tax. Many Conservatives believed both of these falsehoods.

Example #2:

In Mike Huckabee’s Presidential Forum the other night, the female attorney challenged Gingrich on his idea that illegal immigration cases might be decided by jury trial. She said she was uncomfortable with that idea, “as a 20 year prosecutor, because that puts friends and neighbors in a position of deciding the fate of these people.” Gingrich rightly responded, “That is what we do now with our jury system,” - we have juries of our peers, and it was designed that way. Yet the woman, the Attorney General for the State of Florida, whom we would expect to be Conservative, was more than willing to believe the enemy spin of being against jury trials for illegals because “friends and neighbors” would be on the jury.

People are people. Conservatives are people. Collectively, the masses are ignorant, and remain so intentionally, by being too lazy to even click on links in FR threads.
