He was abandoned well before today’s announcement because a boatload of so-called conservatives drank the DNC and MSM Kool-Aid.

He quit, time to suck up bucko and take it like a man and move on.

People-SOME people,anyway-keep saying that Cain was driven out, lynched, smeared, etc. Something they don't seem to understand,or simply don't want to see....it is glaringly obvious that what happened in the case of Cain vs. White is that he simply didn't have the wherewithall to defend himself against what very well may be a scurrilous attack on his character, and nothing more.
Put yourself in Cain's position for a moment. Just imagine, for one little minute, that you are a candidate for POTUS. A woman from your past comes out of the woodwork to accuse you of having an affair with her for 13 years.
You are shocked and blindsided by this sudden turn of events. You cannot understand why this person, who was supposedly a friend who turned to you for financial aid time after time, would do such a thing.
You immediately go to your campaign staff, hold an emergency meeting with them and get your evidence in order-witnesses,copies of emails, checks, letters, etc.and mount a vigorous defense-because you are a man of principle, you've done nothing wrong and, what's more, you can prove it-and you want to put an end to it quickly, and move on with the business of getting elected and get the country back on track.

OR...

...you give a two-minute,flat-out,generic-sounding denial that proves nothing, don't provide any kind of vigorous defense beyond saying "oh, it's patently false",then subsequently add a little more to your statement while being interviewed several times (well, yes,I knew her, well, yes,I helped her,yes we all make mistakes),and finally drive the last stake into your own political heart by admitting that you were helping this friend, all the while without your spouse knowing about it,and it's ok because she believed the explanation you gave her.

Yeah. I'm the kool-aid drinker.

Cain did it to himself, whether you want to believe it or not,and what you have just witnessed is the political self-destruction of a man who, while appearing to be a good and decent person, may just be so human, have no coping skills and a bunch of idiots for a campaign staff.
