If you ever have driven through the Columbia River Gorge, more than likely you have been through Hood River. For those that haven't basically it is a small town in the heart of windsurfing/kiteboarding mecca, most people here are well off and enjoy the summers on the river. On my way into work for one of those evil corporations, wait... I do automation and maintenance for a vegan food company, so is that still considered an evil corporation by them? Anyways I was driving into work and seen a banner flying over I-84 on balloons with a colorful sign saying "Occupy Hood River, Join Us". I was laughing so hard I almost drove off the overpass. I am still trying to figure out exactly what they are going to occupy here, the fruit farms, Boeing, wind surfing companies? This occupy crap is getting out of hand!
It’s the almost “Glacially-slow” civil war that I expected. It can go from “Join us!” to “1%ers not welcome” to “Eat the Rich” to “We’ll vandalise your property if you make over $50k a year, Richers.”

We need pictures! These idiots are really something. Next we will see occupy Halfway, OR. Those who aren’t that familiar with Halfway...it is about half way to anywhere and a population of about 350 people :) I had similar thoughts on the story of the occupy Lubbock, TX posted the other day.
Ok so... they ‘occupy’ someplace, and sit around in tents for weeks at a time and say stupid things.. and ... so??
let them. in fact, encourage them. SOMEONE is paying good money for this - let’s bankrupt them
Its right on I-84, Its just a banner with 2 balloons floating it up in the air, I don’t actually see anybody tenting out or sitting around, they are probably still at Starbucks.
