Your prayers are working. Praise God!
Sorry for the delay in giving an update ~ life is crazy busy these days.
The Chemo treatment stopped last Thursday, now is the time to get his immune system back working again. When I last talked to Tony he was in great spirit and thrilled that he has not yet lost any hair. Because of the Chemo and drugs they are giving him, his taste buds are not working right and he his nauseous (which they are giving him drugs for) he has lost more weight.
Today the doctors ask family and friends to get tested for a white blood cell match. So, tomorrow it is off to the hospital to (hopefully) donate blood.
I cannot thank all of you enough for your prayers.
Your family continues to be in my prayers..........
Thanks for the update. Continued prayers for his successful treatment.
Good news!
Wonderful news. Praise God!
(As a side note, when I had chemo - lost all my hair. Actually it wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated. I mean showers were a breeze, saved a bunch of money on shampoo, and razors, eye brow waxing......)
Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas weekend.
Hey, if y’all need any additional blood to get tested, I’ve got plenty.
I’ll pony up a few cans worth, if it’s the right brand for him.
Just sayin’...
I’ve got blood to spare.
But I have to warn you, the Red Cross will not take it. Something about Panama, or Chernyoble, or some such.
Picky people.
You are most welcome.
A note of caution: my mother had malignant tumors in her hip that were zapped with radiation. This weakened her immune system but she was so elated and fed-up with the awful nursing home food, that we all went out to dinner and celebrated the disappearance of the tumors.
She caught bacteria in her lungs at the restaurant which later killed her - no immune system to shut down what would have been harmless bacteria.
Keep him safe and close. The good times are coming again and patience is the watchword.
Good luck to you all, and God bless!
That’s good news, TheMom.
Continuing prayers for Tony and his family.
It’s sounding nice and positive for Tony, TheMom. Prayers continue for him and your family, as well as his healthcare providers.
I like humblegunner’s offer ... if it’s based on blood type (vs some special white cell match that’s required) let us know what type he’ll need. I think hospitals can do ‘exchanges’ so I could give here and M.D. Anderson would exchange for a credit to Tony’s blood account. Not an expert, but it seems some program like that is available for those distant from the patient.
I pray deeply for your brother that he may have a full recovery. I am so glad that he is in great spirits.
Thank you for the update TheMom.
Giving God all the glory and praise.
In Jesus’ Holy Name.
Amen.
Thanks for the update Mom.
Good news!
I was just thinking about him the other day (& praying too!).
Seems like there are a lot of sick people to pray for these days.
Hey, tell him not to worry if it happens because bald guys are sexy! Just in case, start looking for some funny crazy temporary tatoos to put up there to help cheer him up.
FReeper prayers are especially effective! God bless, and God speed!
That is Great news!
Thank you for the update. Continuing prayers.
I am so glad to hear this. Chemo can be rough. Prayers being said.
Again joining your FReeper family in prayer that the Lord’s healing hand continues to be so evident upon your brother, and that those who minister to him would recognize that the Lord still walks among his people.
The Great Physician Now Is Near
The Great Physician now is near,
The sympathizing Jesus;
He speaks the drooping heart to cheer,
Oh, hear the voice of Jesus!
Sweetest note in seraph song;
Sweetest name on mortal tongue;
Sweetest carol ever sung:
Jesus, blessed Jesus!

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
