An exmormon.org member writes: "I just got this email from mormon.org thanking me for creating a profile. I immediately logged on to see if somebody had created one for me. I didn't have one. It was a trick to get me to log into the create profile page".

Message
Mormon.org User
The following message has been sent to you:
Church's Mormon.org Media Initiative and You
Dear Member:

Thank you for creating a mormon.org profile. We appreciate the time you have taken to create a profile and to "let your light so shine before men" (Matthew 5:16). We hope to provide regular updates about the results of the mormon.org media initiative, ideas for being involved in the initiative, and to share success stories.

The Initiative
The mormon.org media initiative has two components. An ongoing Internet and social media campaign and a television and outdoor advertising campaign in selected U.S. cities and Brisbane, Australia.
The Internet and social media campaign have generated:
- Millions of first-time visitors to mormon.org
- Tens of millions of page views on the site
- Helped to cause over one million chats the past 12 months on mormon.org

The Internet and social media efforts are ongoing, with some exciting and fun things planned in the months ahead.

For those living in one of the current television markets, the media initiative is also producing exciting results. During the first month:
- New visitors to mormon.org are up 170%
- Page views are up 240%
- Chats are up 25%
- Over 50 news stories have been done about the campaign in the media markets

Ideas
Share Your Mormon.org Profile

Many members are finding it helpful to write the URL (web address) to their profile on the back of mormon.org pass-along cards. (Cards can be order through Distribution Centers, item #09428000.)
- To find your profile's URL, go to mormon.org, select "Our People" then "View Your Profile." Log-in to your LDS Account.
- When your profile appears, simply write down the address as found at the top of your browser. Some members have been creative. For example, some have printed stickers with the URL that are then attached to the back of pass-along cards. Other members have included their profile's URL on their Facebook page and Twitter account. Others have included it as their signature on personal email accounts.

Using Social Media
Many members are finding the use of social media helpful in sharing the media initiative with family and friends. Mormon.org has official pages on Facebook

_SNIP-
On Facebook, simply "Like" the mormon.org page. Whenever something new is posted to the Facebook page (several times a week), it will appear in your news feed. You then have the option to "Like" what has been posted and then "Share" it. This will enable all of your friends to also see the mormon.org post.
- On Twitter, "Follow" mormon.org. Whenever we post a new tweet, you will see it in your feed. You can then simply retweet which will enable those following you to see the post.
- On YouTube you can "Subscribe" to the mormon.org page. This will enable you to "Like" the videos (you'll notice that we need more "Likes") and to also subscribe to our page. This will enable you to receive notifications when new portraits are posted and provide a variety of share options.

A Google+ page will be coming soon.

Contact Us
We'd love to hear from you. Please email experiences you are having and ideas for sharing the campaign with others to ideas@mormon.org.

Sincerely,

Media Division
Missionary Department

I wonder if the recent threads being posted complaining about the FR "persecution" of mormonism is part of the "let your light so shine before men" (Matthew 5:16)" message.

This campaign of the mormon church would result in there being dozens of mormon "caucus" threads promoting the actions described in this article being posted today if they were allowed.

Maybe that's the reason for the recent attack threads on FR and the "anti-mormons" presently running.

The Morg must really be losing money, I mean members..... Either that or they are trying to get Romney elected.

I think the control of members by the mormon leadership is evident in the way the leadership is leading the members step-by-step in these "missionary" efforts. It's not enough to have the 52,000 young men out there attempting to poach Christian souls, each member is commanded to join in the effort.

Hey mormons...why is it you demand to be called "Christian"?

I have never seen any organization that is as controlling as the Mormon Inc. But that’s typical of cults though.

Hey mormons...why is it you demand to be called "Christian"?

Questions put to Joseph Smith: "'Do you believe the Bible?' [Smith:]'If we do, we are the only people under heaven that does, for there are none of the religious sects of the day that do'. When asked 'Will everybody be damned, but Mormons'? [Smith replied] 'Yes, and a great portion of them, unless they repent, and work righteousness." (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 119).
Joseph Smith: "for the teachers of religion of the different sects understood the same passages of scripture so differently as to destroy all confidence in settling the question by an appeal to the Bible" (from Pearl of Great Price 1:12). "What is it that inspires professors of Christianity generally with a hope of salvation? It is that smooth, sophisticated influence of the devil, by which he deceives the whole world" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p.270).

Brigham Young stated this repeatedly: "When the light came to me I saw that all the so-called Christian world was grovelling in darkness" (Journal of Discourses  5:73); "The Christian world, so-called, are heathens as to the knowledge of the salvation of God" (Journal of Discourses  8:171); "With a regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world" (Journal of Discourses  8:199); "And who is there that acknowledges [God's] hand? ...You may wander east, west, north, and south, and you cannot find it in any church or government on the earth, except the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" (Journal of Discourses , vol. 6, p.24); "Should you ask why we differ from other Christians, as they are called, it is simply because they are not Christians as the New Testament defines Christianity" (Journal of Discourses  10:230).
Orson Pratt proclaimed: "Both Catholics and Protestants are nothing less than the 'whore of Babylon' whom the Lord denounces by the mouth of John the Revelator as having corrupted all the earth by their fornications and wickedness. Any person who shall be so corrupt as to receive a holy ordinance of the Gospel from the ministers of any of these apostate churches will be sent down to hell with them, unless they repent" (The Seer, p. 255).

Pratt also said: "This great apostasy commenced about the close of the first century of the Christian era, and it has been waxing worse and worse from then until now" (Journal of Discourses , vol.18, p.44) and: "But as there has been no Christian Church on the earth for a great many centuries past, until the present century, the people have lost sight of the pattern that God has given according to which the Christian Church should be established, and they have denominated a great variety of people Christian Churches, because they profess to be ...But there has been a long apostasy, during which the nations have been cursed with apostate churches in great abundance" (Journal of Discourses , 18:172).

President John Taylor stated: "Christianity...is a perfect pack of nonsense...the devil could not invent a better engine to spread his work than the Christianity of the nineteenth century." (Journal of Discourses , vol. 6, p.167); "Where shall we look for the true order or authority of God? It cannot be found in any nation of Christendom." (Journal of Discourses , 10:127).
James Talmage said: "A self-suggesting interpretation of history indicates that there has been a great departure from the way of salvation as laid down by the Savior, a universal apostasy from the Church of Christ". (A Study of the Articles of Faith, p.182).

President Joseph Fielding Smith said: "Doctrines were corrupted, authority lost, and a false order of religion took the place of the gospel of Jesus Christ, just as it had been the case in former dispensations, and the people were left in spiritual darkness." (Doctrines of Salvation, p.266). "For hundreds of years the world was wrapped in a veil of spiritual darkness, until there was not one fundamental truth belonging to the place of salvation ...Joseph Smith declared that in the year 1820 the Lord revealed to him that all the 'Christian' churches were in error, teaching for commandments the doctrines of men" (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 3, p.282).

More recent statements by apostle Bruce McConkie are also very clear: "Apostasy was universal...And this darkness still prevails except among those who have come to a knowledge of the restored gospel" (Doctrines of Salvation, vol 3, p.265); "Thus the signs of the times include the prevailing apostate darkness in the sects of Christendom and in the religious world in general" (The Millennial Messiah, p.403); "a perverted Christianity holds sway among the so-called Christians of apostate Christendom" (Mormon Doctrine, p.132); "virtually all the millions of apostate Christendom have abased themselves before the mythical throne of a mythical Christ whom they vainly suppose to be a spirit essence who is incorporeal uncreated, immaterial and three-in-one with the Father and Holy Spirit" (Mormon Doctrine, p.269); "Gnosticism is one of the great pagan philosophies which antedated Christ and the Christian Era and which was later commingled with pure Christianity to form the apostate religion that has prevailed in the world since the early days of that era." (Mormon Doctrine, p.316).
President George Q. Cannon said: "After the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized, there were only two churches upon the earth. They were known respectively as the Church of the Lamb of God and Babylon. The various organizations which are called churches throughout Christendom, though differing in their creeds and organizations, have one common origin. They all belong to Babylon" (Gospel Truth, p.324).

President Wilford Woodruff stated: "the Gospel of modern Christendom shuts up the Lord, and stops all communication with Him. I want nothing to do with such a Gospel, I would rather prefer the Gospel of the dark ages, so called" (Journal of Discourses , vol. 2, p.196).

Can you imagine being the fly on the wall in the Bishop's office when a MORMON has to explain how they managed to get themselves KICKED OFF of one of the biggest and highly visited CONSERVATIVE sites on the web??

BRING IT!!

Office of First President & Living Prophet®:

November 1st, 2011

The message for this month is -

...to stay on our mantra: We ARE Christians!!

We've been taking a beating on the Internet - especially from those hateful ANTIs on FreeRepublic!

We MUST keep the media constantly informed of those things the world considers christian.

We must NOT allow our MORMONness to show thru, as it has gotten a really bad rap thru history - lord only knows why...

""""Evidently the door-to-door 'campaign' ain't working any more!"""""

I seldom see the bicycles out anymore. It appears that the Mormon cult is in shambles and will one day FALL, the sooner the better.

Thanks to many exMo's, and FR threads on them, they are being EXPOSED for the cult they are. Sad for the Mormon Peons who havn't a clue what they got into.

It's been around four years ago now that I was saved, but things were changing quickly in the mission field when I was in. It has always been the norm for members to invite the missionaries over for dinner to feed them. We used to pass around a calendar to fill in to make sure they always had dinner. Then one day we got an edict from salt lake, as part of the "every member a missionary" policy, stating that we weren't allowed to have the missionaries over for dinner unless we had an "investigator" over also. Do your recruiting work or the teen boys go to bed hungry !

The calendar went blank. I asked one of the missionaries one day about it, and he said they went hungry do to the new rule, but were told to consider it fasting. They were not allowed by mission rules to buy enough food to feed themselves.

I call it the missionary dinner hostage cult recruiting technique.

BTW Annie, it's good to see you around again. Keep it up and you'll wind up by name on the LDS defender's blogs like the F.R.A.M. report.....Just like the rest of us.

But just imagine the results of them coming to the REAL Christ!

If we could incorporate just a FRACTION of their zeal and dedication... WOW!

This is not the wording I would have chosen, but I don’t see this as deception. It is common marketing practice to thank someone for doing something that you hope they will do in the near future. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this many times in advertisements “Thank you for trying our delicious pastries.” As a random example of this, I googled and found the Roosa Bee Farm in Wallkill New York, and at the bottom of their home page, where you still need to click to actually order anything, it says “Thank You for trying our honey and if you ever have any questions, we will always be there for you. Just give us a call.” As another example, where I work, there is one lady who sends me lists of files that need actions, but thanks me for doing them as if they were already done (as she does expect them to be done in the near future). It is actually confusing sometimes, because everyone else thanks me after I have worked the requests, so if I’m not careful, I assume I’ve already worked her requests. It can be confusing, but there is no attempt at deception on her part.
