Where can we find a link to independent test results proving it works? Oh, wait—we can’t.

SCAM.

*Ping* Well, I was wrong. As some of us discussed yesterday, if the Ecat is a scam it is a time-sensitive one. Based on a quick skim, it looks like they are declaring only that they are developing partnerships and outlining some specifications towards a future product launch. This is contradictory to the scam models (either Defkalion working secretly with Rossi, or trying to salvage their former cooperation in a scam).

So now I await the inevitable "this just proves it is a scam!" comments. I await your explanations as to how that would be the case...

Man o Man would I love to have to eat my words and have this be real. That prototype is the perfect size for my needs.

I still don’t believe it but it appears they are going to allows third party tests which should either prove it works or prove it’s a fraud. It’s about time a third party gets their hands on one of these.

I wonder why the Hyperion units will have a GPS as standard equipment?

Ecatnews is speculating the 3 mm. gamma ray shielding may be a typo. But it can't be much thicker or the total mass for the units would have to be a lot higher. And the 3 mm. figure is found twice in the document. (They are also saying the Defkalion server is down at the moment.)

There will be a non-hazardous self-destruct mechanism to protect against tampering.

There will be a 6 second pre-heat cycle with a 6 amp heater to get the Hyperion running.

It will be equipped with a pair of USB ports.

There will be some minor power consumption for pumps, controller, etc. The unit willl have a couple mundane backup batteries but I think it is meant to be plugged in.

The single reactor kernel is rated at 5-11 kW (still being developed), with a mass of 19.5 kg.

Max power consumption to be <200 Wh. COP better than 1:25.

Hydrogen and powder recharge every 6 month (like the Ecat).
