A kiss between two 12-year-olds is under investigation by authorities in Fort Myers.
Deputies said they were called to Orange River Elementary School after a girl kissed one of her classmates during physical education class last week.
The school reported the incident as a possible sex crime, and the Department of Children and Families was called in. Investigators said the girl could be charged with battery if the boy didn't consent to the kiss.
More insanity.
Who are these authorities and why aren’t they grilling Jerry Sandusky instead of that homo pervert being out and about on bail?
What BS, give me a “F”ing break, a crime? Talk to the kids and the problem will be solved.
WTF is wrong with people? So, I suppose this girl will be labeled a “sex offender” now?
Simply amazing that “The Authorities” are all over this while the likes of Jerry Sandusky get to run wild for decades.
This is misreported.
The investigation is into the abuse of one of the girls involved at home.
Cooties
While I don’t think 12-year-olds should be kissing, at school or elsewhere, it appears zero tolerance means school officials check their brain at the door.
A man from the school called Rush yesterday and said this is a bogus story. The girl was called into the office, where a far more serious issue at home was discovered... which is why the police were called.
This was misreported my the drive-by media
Rush was all over this yesterday..
Typical drive-by looking for something that WAS NOT THERE!
How do you know that? If true, this headline is the biggest lie in media history (and that’s going some!)
The whole story not reported in the worthless press is that the girl was called into the office. The school found out there were sexual abuse of the girl at home. The police were called to handle that issue. The police were not called for the issue at school.
When the girl was asked about the incident, she revealed some sort of abuse that had been occuring at home.
That's why the police were called, and that part of the story was kept out of the police report to protect the girl's privacy.
Then the story became big news, and the privacy was no more.
Go look for Transscripts of Rush’s show yesterday it was a media hit piece and a LIE!
The correction//retraction will be on page 3 of the paper under the fold, as usuall
the school PR guy called into Rush yesterday and detailed the whole sad affair. It was misreported and misrepresented from the first hour.
he was also calling other outlets to set the record straight
Wow. If WFTV got this story THAT wrong, they should change their call letters to WTF-TV!
I’m never surprised to see media bias, but this is just flat-out wrong.
Every time we turn around the FCC is trying to stick it’s nose into regulating content on the air, where are they when a TV station flat-out makes up the news?
1970
12 year old girl kisses 12 year old boy
Response: “Oh gross, girl germs!” or blushing giggle
12 year old boy kisses 12 year old girl
Response: “Slap” or blushing giggle
2011
12 year old girl kisses 12 year old boy
Response: This may be sexual assault
12 year old boy kisses 12 year old girl
Response: Hate crime! Call the SWAT team and castrate the little misogynistic pervert.
This was completely debunked yesterday on Rush’s show.
Today’s teachers can’t just walk up to two students and say “knock it off” anymore? When “calling the authorities” has become the default action for virtually any perceived offense, no matter how trivial, we’ve lost our way as a nation.
