While Newt Gingrich has come out on top (24%) in a new CNN Poll released late Monday afternoon, Herman Cain has begun to show signs of a comeback after allegations of improper behavior set back his campaign earlier in the month.

Mr. Cain has gained 3 points since a November 11-13 CNN poll and now stands at 17%. Mitt Romney, who has not been facing any accusations of scandal or major gaffes, has accelerated his fall in the polls from 26% in late October, to 24% in the November 11-13 poll, to 20% in the current CNN poll. This puts Mr. Cain back within the margin of error with Mr. Romney.

I don't think Cain's lead really fell despite what the Rats in the Media and Press told us.

They are trying to protect their credibility by admitting Romney is really not popular with at least 75% at best that DO NOT support the flip flopping liberal from Massachusetts.

I can remember a political analyst saying that a candidate either needs money or momentum, and Cain certainly has MOMENTUM on his side (and I’m sure he’s not doing too badly with money either).

Glad to see the bleeding seems to have slowed for Cain. And, BTW... anyone notice the amazing, stony silence of the character assassins..er.. sex harassment accusers since he took a dip in the polls? Where`s Gee-Ell-Oh-Are-Aye-Yay and her golddigging “client” with the money problems?

Anyone still think there was anything to that episode beyond a political lynching?

Trump wants to run as an “indie.” I never bought into the idea he was anything other than a shill for the dems. If he`s not in Obama`s camp, he needs to stand down the idea of pulling votes away from the GOP nominee.

I`ve never trusted that self-worshipping bastard Trump and I never will.

Anything and evertything Trump says or does is within the framework of one thought: “I worship me, and all others must as well.”

I detest that bullying emeffer. He`ll never get a vote from me.

It is not hating Cain to point out that a poll was taken either before or during the allegations problem. That is only common sense. And straw polls are not very effective at demonstrating other than intensity of support, not a random sampling of support demonstrating a statistical picture of the actual landscape.

I wouldn’t put faith in any poll about any candidate that had issues that weren’t fairly discussed in light of reality.

Gingrich 24%, Romney 20%, Cain 17%, Perry 11%, Paul 9%.

Cain needs to start selling Cain better

In that respect, I think he's missing the boat. He comes across sometimes like it's enough to have a plan in place and if you have any questions go look it up. My impression is that he doesn't (yet) see the value in getting up close and personal with the American people, inviting us into his living room and chatting with us heart-to-heart, like a friend, like Reagan did. The American people want Cain to be their (our) friend the way Reagan was their (our) friend.

Expensive airtime sure. Worth it? Yes. This isn't for Cain, as he himself has said. A lot hangs in the balance.

It depends on which “supporters” of Romney are moving to Newt. If they’re the die-hard party types, that’s one thing, but if it’s just those who aren’t paying much attention, that’s another.

From what I know he has been doing just that in his personnal apperances. I’ve yet to read anything negative from personal experiences since he started running for office.

Cain obvious has a tons of personal charisma. I suspect that has been what has made him successful at motivating people in the past. That and being a down to earth individual.

Thanks for the ping! Thanks for plotting these surveys in a smoothed out manner. Statistics are fine, but a sample of 1 K out of 60,000 K voters produces a guess at best.

The Politico-Flaming of Cain this early in his campaign will have the positive effect of convincing Cain as to the reality of the “mean-spirited” intent of the Liberal Agenda Media.

The Liberal Agenda Media must protect the Plantation Politics of the Entitlement Plantation Feudal Lords of The Beltway. Cain needs to anticipate their future attacks, because he is their main threat.

Newt is more inclined to compromise-away than Herman. Herman is a businessman who understands the importance of eliminating liabilities, such as THE ENTITLEMENT PLANTATION.

BTW, you can call it Welfare State, Safety Net, Social Engineering, Socialism, or New Deal, just don’t call it profitable.

That's good, but I hope he starts to do this on a much bigger, national broadcast scale. And not in Leftist-run "debates" which are really circus side shows designed to marginalize these non-leftist candidates.

Big broadcasts, big $, but big impact. Not the impact of "political slickness" but letting America see who you are and having these "heart-to-hearts" as I call them. Actually bypassing all the experts, media events, and hype and simply going directly to the American people on a large scale. We've been waiting for that since Reagan.

Herman, are you listening?

Yes, and time will tell.

If I had to guess, I’d think the die-hard party types were going to Newt because they finally accepted that just maybe Romney can’t win and they think Newt can and they are okay with Newt.

The people that are not really paying attention and going on the Newt ear candy thing (his debate performances), they might change their minds after they start paying closer attention.

Hard to say at this point.
