What a shame. The doberman hadn't harmed the pug and was on its own property.
To make matters worse, the dog's owner was nearly shot trying to get to his dog.
This is a situation where common sense and reason should have prevailed.

The cops only regret is that he wasn't provided an excuse to shoot the owner.
You get time off when you shoot somebody.

Yep, that officer would get some time in the street if I was his supervisor.

As Orwell stated, some pugs are more equal than other pugs. In this case, ownership by a ULEO elevates the pug to near-police status. H*ll, he even got to sit in the patrol car.

That dog looks every bit as ferocious as my 115lb. Newfy mix, the one that the kittens sleep on. What a stupid move,
and what a heartbreak for the owners.

That’s what happens when you give idiots a job where they carry and and can use a firearm. If they don’t “use it enough” they will find a way to use it... It’s the old “all problems look like nails if you have a hammer” aphorism...

The doberman hadn't harmed the pug and was on its own property. The article doesn't say where the dog was when it was shot. It's unclear.
