I can't wait for the primaries to start. I also can't wait until Tuesday...another debate. Bachmann, Santorum and Cain need to crush Newt. I hope they go for the jugular on him. Bachmann is the one patriot who will do so. Hopefully the other two have the same principles.

But...but Rove and Brit said! I mean all of the MSM pundits too...they said that Cain had peaked before the allegations and that he was going down hill now, steadily.

Hehehe...LOL!

Can't keep a good man down and we're still raising Cain!

They don't get it. That we trust Cain. Respect what he has accomplished. Feel he can similarly help the nation. Like the fact that he is not a spit-and-polished pol and that when he mis-speaks, he goes back, gets it right, and then moves on.

I believe Cain can and will win Iowa and South Carolina...it would be great to take a 3 state sweep and surprise everyone with New Hampshire too.

Either way, the Cain train is still on track.

HERMAN CAIN VS BARACK OBAMA

I like Cain. He's (still, for now) my #1 guy. But it's not the scandal. As one observer put it, Cain is running on his business/managerial skills and those have come into question. I think he could have been much more aggressive in the whole "scandal" thing, but what is more disturbing are his comments on Libya and Iran and some of the other foreign policy stuff.

No, I do not expect him to be Newt, with Newt's 30 years' worth of policy experience and talent for knowing everything about everything. But I do expect Cain to be better briefed on current issues; to be able to make ONE CLEAR conservative point (not "states' rights") about everything from gun ownership to a reasonable strategy for dealing with Iran.

If you seen Cains entourage in person you would think it was Don King in the room. Handlers (unfriendly looking) walked backwards while he moved about.

Foxnews is trying hard to cheerlead Newt to the top.

It is not the scandal that is causing us to leave Cain, it is that upon closer inspection, we do not want to give the govt another revenue source without removing the old one.

It is because when asked how 9-9-9 would stay at that rate, he basically said we could trust Congress not to raise the rates.

It is because when Newt debated him, Newt was very nice made no effort to wound him, and yet Herman had to defer several times so he could hear Newts answer first, followed by the CIC debate, followed by the Libya gaff. It became clear that Herman was clueless on Foreign Policy.

In short, we really dont give a flying fig about the allegations ... we care about policy, and we took the time to give him a good hard look, and chose to say no thanks. He needs some time to marinate ... maybe a cabinet position like Treasury or Chairman of the Fed ... and we would welcome looking at him again in the future.

Does the poll give a breakout by candidate of those 377 [30%] respondents that said they would likely attend the caucuses? That is the true number to be looking for not some number influenced by some 70% that are unlikely to attend a caucus.

The sad thing is that you have all the facts right there, but you aren’t getting it.

First, the poll was started on November 1st. That’s the day after the first story broke, as you said. It’s when everybody rallied to Cain, driving up his numbers. The poll continued for 2 full weeks.

Cain’s numbers only started falling in the last week or so, or around November 10th. That means only the last few days of polling could have included that drop-off.

Second, while it is a “big” poll, it’s registered voters. In the poll, it states that only 377 of the people polled are planning to be in the caucus. So most of the respondents aren’t voters at all.

Third, the poll shows a complete indifference to picking candidates. Over 50% of those polled said they were undecided despite giving a “1st choice”, and another 30%+ said they were not committed to their candidate. Only 16.5% said they WERE committed to their first choice.

Which means that Cain got 4% of the committed vote here.

You can keep hyping this poll — it’s been posted so many times in the past two days, both as it’s own threads, as well as being spammed onto lots of other threads for Cain and other candidates.

It’s like wishing will make it so — but it won’t.

You’d be better off remembering Palin’s admonition — don’t pay attention to the polls. Look for the good in your candidate, and sell it. Don’t try to tear other candidates down, SELL the positives of your candidate.

That means actual things about your candidate, not “good poll numbers”. We are about done with the gadflys flitting from candidate to candidate looking for “electability”. All our candidates have flown high and fallen hard (well, Gingrich hasn’t yet, but if past is prologue, he will shortly).

So now it’s time for the 80%ers to stop being fickle, and to CHOOSE from the “humans” we have running, and stop looking for Mr. Perfect.

Cain will be one of those candidates being considered, although I personally think he is too flawed and inexperienced to be a serious pick. But that’s my opinion — fight for your candidate.

It’s going to be a new game here shortly. The candidates who have worked hard the last two months to put together policy proposals and a solid organization are going to shine, in my opinion.

Hmm. You’re the first I’ve heard say this-—and I just came from a convention where many of the people had gone to a Cain event the night before.

Nah.

The poll began to be taken on Nov. 1.

Cain was still leading most polls until Nov. 10.

After the Lincoln Debate the two candidates had a personal meet and greet in banquet room. After one candidate finished the other would enter the room. Both had vastly different ways of greeting.

Just my observance of one meet and greet. I am not negative either candidate, they both had opposite style. Cain just had SS officially appointed so it explains the tight security.
