Actress Piper Laurie describes Ronald Reagan -- who played her dad in a movie and then bedded the 18-year-old virgin off the set -- as an insensitive “show-off” in bed in her new memoir, “Learning to Live Out Loud.”
Laurie played the teenage daughter of the future president, then 39, in the 1950 film “Louisa.”
At the time, Reagan was no longer married to actress Jane Wyman and had not yet started dating Wife No. 2, the former Nancy Davis, when he started flirting with the ingenue, insisting she call him “Ronnie.”
“I was quite flattered by his fatherly attention,” said Laurie, who was later nominated for Oscars for her roles in “The Hustler,” “Carrie” and “Children of a Lesser God.”
The Gipper made his move on the starlet by inviting her to dinner, after getting permission from her mom.
Instead of taking her out, he cooked her dinner at his home, serving hamburgers.
“It was my first love affair,” she said.
But the bedroom romp later that night was “without grace.”
“He made sure I was aware of the length of time he had been ‘ardent.’ It was 40 minutes,” she writes. “And he told me how much the condom cost.”
Then, sensing Laurie was less than enthused by the experience, he insulted her.
“There’s something wrong with you. You should have had many orgasms by now -- after all this time. You’ve got to see a doctor,” he said.

A long time ago a beautiful girl really did try to seduce me. Well I can’t say that for sure but I thought she was.
I knew her pretty well. She was having some personal problems and one day we happened to be together and she talked to me about some of them. After maybe a half hour, she looked at me as asked if I would kiss her.
I told her no as she was a friend of mine’s girlfriend. I didn’t think too much of it until several months later my friend told me she had told him what happened and he appreciated my not taking advantage of the situation.
I sometimes had wished I had gone ahead as she really was a babe but really I was glad I didn’t as these things seem to always get back to haunt you either for the good or bad.
I’m just glad this story isn’t about Peter Lorre.
He was concerned for her health. How touching.
Do we know he really said this? Is he alive to refute it?

hopefully so! Watching him at around my (current) age, I am mostly just a bit nonplussed that this man would become a terrifically charismatic president 30 years~ later.
Youtube is an interesting source of seeing public personalities from the black-and-white days. Reagan’s appearances are more interesting because he was an actor and wasn’t self-policing himself the way a politician would.

Hopefully Piper has been reunited with the Gipper.
For someone reason, I don’t completely believe this story.
