A Tennessee woman who said she wanted a relationship--and did not want to be just “a booty call”--allegedly stabbed a male suitor Tuesday night after he became irate when she put the brakes on his attempts to “touch her suggestively,” police report.

Oh, did we mention that the two are first cousins?

Ideally, when you read this little romantic tale, you should be listening to "Dueling Banjos".

All I can say is, "Paging Jerry Springer. Jerry Springer, please pick up the white courtesy phone."

As always, alcohol is involved.

I use 190 proof Everclear as part of an oil painting cleaning solution. I wouldn’t recommend drinking it; can’t even buy it here in Florida.

Dang... they look like relatives, too! Eyes are different but notice the nose, cheeks, lips and chin! I just hope they didn’t breed!

And not just any old alcohol, either.

LOL. Great.....people drinking paint thinner.

It’s things like people drinking ‘shine that lead to greeting cards that say, “For My Sister, On Our Anniversary.”

I’m sure Jerry Springer has some airline tickets lined up for this happy couple.

That's East Tennessee, Middle Tennessee and West Tennessee are not involved in this particular hillbilly stereotype. I say that as a person whose East Tennessee grandmother had an uncle who married his first cousin. So far the most inbreeding I've found in my line is a possible instance of second cousins marrying.

Second cousins isn’t quite so bad. In Switzerland, they have a problem with that, as per a Swiss woman I know who lives in Bern.

Apparently, there’s a big problem with inbreeding, as the Swiss tend to marry mostly other Swiss. And it’s a small country, so of course, sooner or later, everyone ends up marrying a cousin.

I lived in Prague for many years, and I knew a young woman, fairly nice, pretty, whatnot. Then I noticed how many OTHER young women in Prague looked almost identical to her. I inquired, and she said her family dates back in Central Bohemia for about 3,000 years, and she’s pretty sure that she’s related to about 60% of the indigenous Czech population of Prague and the surrounding areas.

Just one big happy family, so to speak.

Oops....typo in my response.

Not 3,000 years, but 1,000 years.

The harmful inbreeding does not occur from isolated cases of known cousins marrying, but generations of isolation where everybody is related to everyone. Researching my family, I found an instance of five siblings from one family marrying five from another family. In that isolated community, it wouldn't take long until those two families dominated the local gene pool. Thankfully the couple in the five who were my ancestors soon moved else I would be posting on Democratic Underground instead of Free Republic!

The old joke is that in parts of Tennessee this is foreplay: “You awake, Sis?”

An investigator noted that Wilson and Brooks, who smelled of booze, admitted to consuming significant amounts of Everclear grain alcohol ....

Wilson, a Taco Bell employee, bonded out of jail yesterday after posting $4000 bond.
