I suppose from the period, the original movie was not in color, so the end result has a video-game feeling to it. It’s really nice, though. Thank you for sharing!

Really! There are cars in the city, for instance.

Not a turban or hijab in sight.

No litter. No graffiti. Nicely dressed people crossing the street at the crosswalk. Not a lot of traffic. It looks like Paradise!

The trick to dating this film is to identify the latest model of car you can find. That is up to the car buffs.

There is a late model looking green woodie at 5:20. Is that a Ford?

I’m going with 1954, the most modern cars I saw were a Hillman Husky, curved windshield Morris Minors and curved window Ford 100Es. there was also a Ford Consul with curved glass, but I think they got that in 52 or 53

You always hear of London’s foggy days, especially back then. This is so bright and balmy it almost seems subtropical.

I’d suggest everyone read the comments at the original site. It will give you a hint of America to come.

This reminds me of a movie shot by two train buffs in the early 50s. They used a car to “pace” a Detroit streetcar from the end of the line to downtown (along Woodward Ave?) with color film. It’s very reminiscent of this movie...it too captured a bygone era.

I remember the line in "84 Charing Cross Road" - "I go to English movies just to look at the streets."
Reminds me of the film "Genevieve", try to see it if you have the chance. Kenneth More is in it, great little gem.

Now London is filled with foreigners who want to kill everyone.
Hard to believe a once great society would do that to itself.

The little girl walking with her parents is probably now in her late 60’s ... Wonder what happened in all of those peoples lives?

Also, note how trim the people are. Interesting to compare with London today.
