Disingenuous, pro-Romney sham.

Despite the squawks of the anti-newters, Gingrich is building support the old-fashioned way. He is earning it by his performance.

He is the ONLY candidate that will stand toe-to-toe with Obama and attack HIM on the issues from a postion of high EXPERIENCE and knowledge!

Newt has been great and I’d vote for him if he’s the nominee.

But expect Newt’s troubles to just be beginning. As he climbs in the polls, his political and personal record will be re-scrutinized. Is it surmountable? Sure. But it’s not a slam-dunk.

Also as time goes on, the importance of the debates will be put into their larger context. It’s great to have someone who can debate, but there’s a lot more to being President (and, for that matter, to winning the presidency).

Finally, the things Newt has done to win support in these debates are not the kinds of things he could do as POTUS. Yes, he could be forceful, clear and direct. But he would not be able to throw the sharp elbows he does now and not be considered “unpresidential.”

So just saying don’t get too much in love with his debate persona. It’s not the one he could use, at least not as he is now, if he were prez.

There is no denying that Newt is great.

Two things that Newt absolutely gets:

1 - the court problem. I believe he will make sound Supreme court appointments.

2 - the Islamitization of our culture.

He is the ONLY one who can hit the ground running. We may only have 2 years to get the train back on the track. He could do it. Unfortunately, Cain will need two years to learn the job.

We will have to watch Newt (or for that matter, any one of them) like a hawk, every day. But I, for one, will never trust a president again.

I really must say, I have always been for Herman Cain, and still think he is a contender. But, having watched the past few debates, I’ve come to realize that Newt truly is “the smartest guy in the room”. A couple of months ago, I thought he was a has-been; but now, I think I’m shifting towards Gingrich/Cain, instead of Cain/Gingrich.

Comments?

It doesn’t matter too much who wins the presidency. The coming festivities are beyond the control of governments. They must simply be lived through.

Tbings can be made worse by the wrong person, as we have seen. Newt would be a good person to negotiate the upcoming shoals. Perhaps the best of this lot.

Baggage? I get the sense that most Americans have other things on their minds. The baggage routine is a media creation, and people are turning against the media daily. Soon the media pundits will be as unpopular as the political class (I hope).

All you people who are nitpicking around about this issue and that flip-flop and “baggage” will not give a damn about any of that in 3 years. I don’t give a damn about any of it now.

You can have Newt. He lost me when he jumped on the environmental and global warming shit. Him jumping in bed with the Pribcess was icing on the cake as far as I am concerned. According to dome on this forum, Newt is the smartest man in the world. According to the msm Hillary isthe smartest woman in the world. The two groups should get together and compare notes.

I’m for Newt. Cain might be ok as VP. I’d rather have Gingrich/Rubio but Rubio says he wouldn’t accept nomination for VP slot.
