From the VERY FIRST second this hit the news, my response was
FOLLOW THE $$$$.
The College & Pro Sports programs in this country have grown, like malignant tumors, WAY WAY WAY beyond their rightful and sensible place in American Life today. They unfortunately are filling major voids in the lives of far too many Americans.
The amount of money involved is simply staggering, and when available funds reach those levels, ANYONE can get ANYTHING they want done by simply spreading a bit of petty cash around. For those involved in this industry, petty cash can be hundreds of thousands of bucks.
Look at the LA Dodgers scandal. The owners were using it as a personal piggy bank to fund their outrageous lifestyles, allowed attempted murder in their parking lot (Brian Stowes lifetime medical expenses have been estimated as high as a BILLION bucks) and ran it into BK and yet estimates are the sale will STILL bring in at least a BILLION BUCKS!!!
I could be wrong, but I will be surprised if there is trouble at the game, assuming it is not cancelled.
Still, a lot more details are sure to come to light between now and Saturday.
What a coincidence. The two places appear to have a lot in common.

They better change the name to Unhappy Valley.
If they do play, they should call it, “The Spanier Bowl.”
Does Nebraska have a youth indoctrination program too?
How are they going to train the kids for alternative lifestyle if they don’t?/S
The D Cell batteries will be flying in Madison.
For crying out loud. Play the game. Looks like the only thing you have to worry about are the showers.
I have friends from back home that had tickets to this game. They are not going.
Much safer to watch the game from home or at a Nebraska bar in Philly. The riots show that.
Worry some about the players, but they will have there own protection detail.
What about the two road games? Columbus and Madison can descend into riots on a "regular" football Saturday.
Because no one pays $150 dollars to watch someone take a test. Big schools are the farm teams for the NFL and NBA. Same reason the cover up happened.
On a financial basis, the cover up was very successful. They got 15 plus years of higher revenue. As sick as it is, that is what someone thought.
I grew up in Nebraska, but UNL is not a good school. It exists as a support system for the football team.
Why stop with the football team? Why not revoke all PSU degrees from every student that has graduated since Sandusky came to Penn State.
That should be sufficient punishment for everyone involved.
Also remember it was tied to the GOP. Specifically Bush Sr.
Heard a few rumors before the scandals broke, and there is/was a coverup.
And it has always been that way
This scandal, if true (and I believe it is), is about the most horrible thing I have ever read. Yes, GOP heavily involved.
WOW! You are really upset that they forfiet three games. SMU had to forfiet their entire season for cheating. I got some more bad news pal now they’re reporting that Sandusky might have been pimping these kids out to Penn State doners. But we have to keep our peiorities straight...I mean we got a football game to play!!!
Unfortunately, that describes 95% + of the colleges and universities in this country. The partial exceptions being the Engineering, (hard, not pseudo) Science, and Business colleges within the university systems. Halting any and all State support for programs other than those which produce productive and employable graduates might get the regents' and administrators' minds right and put a lot of PhD's out on the street, where they apparently wish to be anyway.
A fellow can dream, can't he?
I’m saying punish the people who are guilty ... not anyone you can get your hands on within 5 miles of State College, Pa.
Forfieting three football games ain’t much punishment, considering the gravity of the situation...get serious man the Nebraska coach is in fear of his teams safety because of those idots that rioted last night.
