COOL! Quinn and Rose are being picked up in Nags Head NC! Jim says he's going to vacation there!. Heads up for all yunz who vacation there!
Penn State riots overnight after JoPa gets axed, Perry melts down and Cain gets applauded when some bimbo reporter asks him about the accusations. Jim has sound.
Good morning n’at...I love Nags Head (and Myrtle Beach) I could retire to NC or SC :)
PSU is like a bad dream (which I had, vividly, last night). Look for PSU/Nebraska game to be cancelled. Classes cancelled today and tomorrow (@Happy Valley). Chatter that by cancelling the game (safefy a major issue) and clear HV for next week. Let things cool down.
Pa HSSenior son and I were supposed to go to HV Tuesday—guessing that tour is ‘off.’.
Now to my weird, vivid dream...a red earthquake USGS box in VA (or maybe MD) and we felt it here...and we all had damage. Like stadiums & buildings it was so big (and clear).beaver stadium I guess was on my mind...but was it unsettling. Just wanted to ‘document’ it.
Morning p6.
Slept in. Thanks for posting the thread! The trip to Pittsburgh is a stressful drive for me. Mr S is in Shadyside. He’s got snacks, laptop, movies, book, etc. I’M the one who’s stressed!! How do yunz drive that everyday??? The Pittsburgh drivers are nuts! I’m just not used to that! Mr S is usually the one who drives.
I’m going down today. Taking the inlaws with me.
Semper Fi n’at!!! That was what I should have posted about. Sons’ FB @PSU saying they will be home this weekend. Just anecdotal.
Prayers sent up for you and Mr. S—will keep you both in my thoughts.
Happy Birthday to the US Marine Corps!
Listening to Cain answering the question regarding the sexual abuse allegations. I saw this thread last night, from Atlanta ABC:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2805139/posts
Oh heck! That was CBS Atlanta!
Title of thread: Investigator: Herman Cain innocent of sexual advances
The O’grady part of the Cain story is a smoking gun. O’G worked for Richard Daley, left there and went to work in (drum roll) the National Restaurant Association. Coinky dink? Hmmm...
There was a FR thread on this yesterday...and Bialek (the Allred client who lives in the Axelrod apt bldg) is connected to O’G. An astute period, in a post on that thread (will find it later @break @work—gotta get family’s dinner ready) posted that ALL during Cains’ career—NO allegations of any wrongdoing. None. Only glowing recommendations. Then Cain works @the NREsaurant Association...that’s HQs are in DC and Chicago—and all of a sudden...and ONLY in the Chicago office...accusations.
Makes ya go ‘hmmmmm.’
It wouldn't be surprising if the entire rest of the season was canceled. Of next week's game ISN'T canceled there will be trouble! The webcam on Allen street overnight showed only a few LEO's and an emergency vehicle. The street was blocked off though. The videos on the news and YouTube looked pretty bad.
Yup sneakers, the drivers here are positively NUTS! That's why anymore I let Mrs p6 drive when she feels like it. She can see better than I can and it's been years since I used to cruise around so I don't feel comfortable.
The parkway east is horrendous as is RT28 and other roads.
Oh I have to switch gears. I was just telling Mrs p6 the DDT/EPA story Jim mentioned. Of course most FReepers easpecially on this thread know about it but she is completely clueless.
I'll be back after I hold class, LOL!
Who is O’Grady? I must have missed a lot yesterday! Sounds like the entire thing is becoming unraveled. And with Cain gettin Lin Wood as his attorney.... Gloria Alred (Allred?) must be quaking in her boots! And, yes, isn’t it interesting that all of this centers around the Nat’l Restaurant Assoc. in DC and Chicago! Smoking gun indeed!
And PSU gave/inflicted upon the world the Pennsgift variety of crown vetch. Yes it's useful but VERY invasive.
BTW I keep forgetting to mention I supposedly won a Black Friday tee shirt! It's supposed to be in the USPS but so far the tracking number doesn't show anything.
I am a PSU alum, but I’m definitely not obsessed.
Did you see the video of students hugging the JoePa statue, as if he was some sort of paternalistic demi-god? How bizarre!
AFAIK there is only one, very shaky poll claiming Cain has taken a hit. Most still show him ahead or tied. I hope he DOESN’T take a polygraph though. Not that he couldn’t pass it but I’m sure the left would twist it.
Wonder why JoPa wasn't talking with the students last night telling them how they weren't helping things.
DA Who Refused To Prosecute Sandusky In '98 Missing Since '05
From WPXI a couple of days ago. I recall the story very well!
Padad went to PSU...I know of what you post. This Gracar part of story is chilling (if Jim has nailed it?). Wow. I mean NO more athletics prgram...and I am thinking closing down the system. This is a nightmare.
Yes, I remember that. But I’m not entirely sure his disappearance is connected with this case. Maybe, but I think it’s a stretch.
This isn’t necessarily relevant, but in the late 80s and early 90s, I was working for a radio station in Bellefonte as a copywriter. At one point, they hired a young woman to do the news, and she and I became friends. One day she went out to interview the then Acting DA Ray Gricar on a news story; when she returned, she confided in me that he had asked her out on a date. She accepted, and they evidently dated for a while. The owners of the radio station found out about it, and while they couldn’t tell her to stop, they were very disapproving.
I feel for the PSU students/Alum. JoePa has been a living tradition, if you will. He IS Penn State University! I’m not a PSU alum,(IUP grad here!) bet always knew about Joe Paterno.
