Yes, I remember that. But I’m not entirely sure his disappearance is connected with this case. Maybe, but I think it’s a stretch.
This isn’t necessarily relevant, but in the late 80s and early 90s, I was working for a radio station in Bellefonte as a copywriter. At one point, they hired a young woman to do the news, and she and I became friends. One day she went out to interview the then Acting DA Ray Gricar on a news story; when she returned, she confided in me that he had asked her out on a date. She accepted, and they evidently dated for a while. The owners of the radio station found out about it, and while they couldn’t tell her to stop, they were very disapproving.
You are right...could be NO connection...or it could go one of two ways. One, a parent whose sons was attacked by Sandusky (but, to me that doesn’t make sense as Sandusky still was high profile on campus so he would have been an easy mark.). The idea that Gricar either had enough evidence or was threatening he did) makes more sense. Blackmail? Murder...this could get much, much worse.
Now going back to the one I cannot understand hasn’t been arrested (Mike McQueery—the Grad Asst who WITNESSED Sandusky w/a 10 year old...but DID not stop the act when he stumbled upon them in the locker room showrs). McQueeery tip toed away, and called his dad for guidance (a large man, a former football player who was in his late 20s at the time—certainly could have physically intervened and stopped the act). Anyways, on some PSU boards online—McQueery is being alleged to have traded his silence for a meteoric coaching rise.
This is going to get much worse before it gets better (if it ever does).
