Joe thought of this as nothing more than a recruiting violation. Just following legal requirements won’t cut it in this case.
Thanks for making this a bit clearer.
If he is truly distraught, he’d follow King County Superior Court Judge Gary Little’s example.
I’ve read here on FR that his father and Sandusky were friends. He, as well as his father, are cowards.
I don’t know. Paterno says he was not told of any specific sexual abuse.
;-)
Figures. Set up a charity to show people you care, then victimize the kids you are supposed to be helping. He must be a Democrat.
Yeah, everyone is lying but you ...
Yeah, everyone is lying but you ...
Then somebody’s lying. Either McQuery, the grad assistant who claimed he witnessed the anal intercourse and then told Paterno about it after being urged to do so by his father, to which he evidently stated as such during his grand jury testimony, or Paterno is lying or lied about what he claims he was told.
Not according to Paterno's own testimony on page 7 of the Grand Jury Presentment. I would link it to you but I don't know how.
You should, perhaps, read it. But not on a full stomach.
Ping to you, Colofornian. You have the most details on this sickening cover-up than any other FReeper, I believe.
Congrats, and keep up the good work!
From the grand jury report:
Joseph V. Paterno testified to receiving the graduate assistants report at his home on a Saturday morning. Paterno testified that the graduate assistant was very upset. Paterno called Tim Curley, Penn State Athletic Director and Paternos immediate superior to his home the very next day, a Sunday, and reported to him that the graduate assistant had seen Jerry Sandusky in the Lasch Building showers fondling or doing something of a sexual nature to a young boy.
Thanks. You're fast.
Glad you did, so you could enlighten this old bag ;-)
Let’s just wait and see. I remember an entire Lacrosse team at Duke that was pilloried by everyone before the truth came out. If he’s guilty the law will prevail. Everyone is entitled to defend themselves and have their day in court. Let’s cool the shotgun-in-the-mouth talk.
;-)
Actually, as far as Sandusky is concerned, he admitted to inappropriate contact to the child's mother while police listened in another room in the 1998, but he wasn't prosecuted. Interestingly, the DA who declined to press charges (Gricar) in that case went missing in 2005 and has never been seen again.
Sandusky unexpectedly retired at age 55 in 1999.
The corruption in Pennsylvania must go very high up since this guy is out on $100K bail. At first I thought he was out on bail so he could off himself or that someone else could off him and make it look like he did it. I mean, it’s what I think about when I think of the mob in Pennsylvania. But with this sickening article, I now think that this guy has the goods on judges, cops, etc. and that he thinks he is invincible.
And when I read that the US Department of Education is now going to investigate these events, I’m sure that there’s some real big doo doo involved and that someone wants to mess up the investigation.
Unless distraught is synonymous with hanging from a rope with his niblets tucked firmly down his throat I’m not interested in this story.
I really don’t give a frog’s fat a$$ about how Sandusky or Paterno or anybody else at PSU “feels”, I only care about the feelings of Sandusky’s victims, and their families.
