The point is Marriott has maintained connections with the NRAEF. The Boston Globe maintains Marriott wasn't CEO of the NRA at the time of the scandal, so Romney camp could not have learned about scandal from Marriott.

I maintain that the Boston Globe is beyond naive

Marriott and Romney have maintained connections through the years and Marriott has maintained connections with the NRA/NRAEF through the years.

Marriott has participated in NRAEF tournaments and hosted tournament which benefited NRA foundations. The most recent was the Dick Marriot SAFE Golf Invitational, which happened to take place 2 weeks ago.

I maintain that Marriott, and his NRA buddies, had plenty of opportunity to learn about the Cain scandal.

I can't imagine folks NOT talking about 2012 election, as they met to participate in NRA fundraising events.

Marriott (and his crowd) was in a position to hear details of Cain scandal. Marriott was in a position to pressure NRA to keep details about complaints and settlements away from Cain.
