Singer Andy Williams has been diagnosed with bladder cancer, it has been claimed.

The 83-year-old, famous for Moon River and Can't Take My Eyes Of You, has began a three-week court chemotherapy course in Houston, Texas on October 31, according to the National Enquirer.

His official website notes that he is unlikely to perform at a scheduled event later this year in Branson, Missouri, the home of his Moon River Theatre.

'Due to health reasons Andy may not make a live appearance in his Christmas Show,' his website states...

A source is quoted as telling the publication: 'Andy got the diagnosis of invasive bladder cancer very recently.'

'That means his cancer has invaded the lining of his bladder, but doctors weren't sure yet whether it had spread to other parts of his body.'...

Definitely not the most wonderful time of the year this season. Rest and take care of yourself Mr. Williams so you can be back with your Christmas Show in 2012.

Damn, I hate to hear that. Fine singer. One of the good guys, too. I pray that it’s treatable but given his age, who knows. My wife and I went to Branson and saw him and Ann Margret a few weeks ago. Great show. Andy appeared weak. I chalked it up to age. Ann Margret is still a looker. I pray that he defeats this.
