Herman Cain was in the center of a firestorm, largely of his own making, yesterday. He knew before he entered the presidential race that he had a sexual harassment settlement in his past. He knew, ever since Politico started questioning his campaign, that a story was afoot. He knew he had to get the story out quickly and truthfully. And yet, by the end of the day, the business executive peddling his leadership skills and know-how looked somewhat like the hapless PBS executive who eventually got ousted for screwing up the Juan Williams firing.
...
Iowans dont need to believe he is innocent of sexual harassment to vote for him. But they do need to trust him. Virtually everything that happened yesterday with regard to this issue served to damage his trustworthiness. Beyond the point of no return? Well find out.
This should serve as a warning to all the vanity candidates (i.e., those without experience who run essentially as celebrities) in this and future cycles: A presidential nomination process is brutal and serious stuff. If they think there is no downside to competing, they are wrong. They may, at the end, come out diminished people, less respected and liked than when they went in.
Some people call this unfair and harmful to our political process. I disagree. If unserious and ill-prepared candidates try to take the voters for a ride, dont bother to understand the issues or even their own weaknesses, they pretty much get what they deserve. And if voters bury their heads in the sand and vote for them anyway, they deserve what follows as well.

I hope you are right but his is not going to go away, the Media will see to it.
1) Nobody's buying the accusations or spin about Cain. Only hacks pushing for some other candidate are interested in it.
2) The Sheriff of Spartanburg County should probably run for higher office.
Troll season has begun early this year...keep your eyes peeled. They are out in record numbers and particularly well hidden.
Troll season has begun early this year...keep your eyes peeled. They are out in record numbers and extremely well disguised.
If it does stop him then it'll be due more to Cain's inept handling of it rather than by the charges themselves.
The media is simply making themselves more disdained.
These are the people who believed they could force us to believe “global warming” is real.
How did that work out?
Yes, you nailed it. But the media don't understand that because people still buy what they know to be dishonest newspapers to put on the bottom of the bird cage and to wrap the kitty litter.
But, but, did you notice the “lips?”
Cain’s campaign did not end yesterday—it got a new boost.
Thank you for your wise and candid commentary about the left’s inherent racism against Black Men in our society.
You are 100% correct, and I could not have stated it better.,
LOL
because of this type of media bs, i just give Cain a donation of 100.00 any one else in
His followers would remain with him even if he is found to be a murderer and a thief. It is a cult. So to summarize his cult campaign is not finished
Thanks for your generosity. The Politico flap followed by this scurrilous article in the Washington Post is enough for me to change my tag line and while I don’t have $99.99 to send Mr. Cain, I will send some...anyone attacked in this manner has to have good traits....
And which cult do you belong to? The Perry Cult? The Romney Cult?
He will drive a stake through the heart of the heretofore lucrative entitlement and race-baiting business.
Herman did great on Greta yesterday. What this whole thing boils down to now is Herman-haters saying "The story is bogus and inconsequential, and it has been comprehensively addressed by Herman Cain, but he disqualified himself by responding imperfectly during the first twelve hours after the bogus story appeared."
Now it's obvious the Beltway Repulican’s can't address the charges as an issue so they go after how he handled things.
Classic
I’m still waiting for politico to check into the 0 bummer / Larry Sinclair issue from way back when.
I know - crickets, crickets, crickets, crickets, crickets, crickets.
