Sir Roger Moore has revealed he does not think Daniel Craig or Sean Connery were as good as him at playing 007. Sir Roger slammed Craig's latest offering Quantum of Solace and said he had struggled to decipher Connery's Scottish accent, in a speech at Cambridge University.
'Sean is a good actor, it’s a pity I can’t understand what he’s saying,' he said, according to the Daily Mirror.

I could go with the Craig statement, but the Connery side makes me think this is just jealousy.
I can hardly stand to watch the movies with Moore in them now days. He seems so completely unnatural.

Especially since Connery was a legendary Bond before Moore.
Daniel Craig looks like Vladimir Putin. When I look at him I see Muscovite not Anglo-Saxon. So I never believe him. At least Connery and Moore look like they are from the Fair Isles.
I agree with you that Daniel Craig looks like Putin, LOL... I never thought he looked English but Slavic which seems odd while playing James Bond. I am not a fan of those films in general but I don’t know what casting directors are thinking when they make selections sometimes.

He has a point. If you ever read the original Fleming stories, particularly those written before the films, Connery’s Robokiller Bond is a long way from the character.
But it’s ironic coming from Moore. His Bond was a buffoon.
Myself though I like Connery’s brogue.
Roger Moore was good in his first Bond films, “Live and Let Die” and “Man with the Golden Gun”.
The silliness came from the scripts, not the actors.
Broadway writers infiltrated Hollywood and started injecting the over-the-top, agenda-laden garbage you see on the stage.
That is what made “Diamonds are Forever” and the later Moore films crappy.
While I despise Daniel Craig (Charlie Brown as 007), the scripts are more intense and dark which is the character Ian Fleming created.
