Dear RedState.com (cross-posted),
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ryan Larsen. Im a truth lover, chess player and avid political junkie. I co-founded....
OK, here is the point where the mods step in... Originally this Pro-Romney troll went on for about twenty thousand words about how wonderful Romney is and how everyone else sucks. You get the picture. He wrote it to our friends at RedState but posted it here. I take it, probably because he met the same fate there as he just did here. We the mods will save you from all that boredom and just allow you to point and laugh. Carry on.
Thank you so much. A belatedly late and happy Tday back to all of you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NSQLMPUK-8&feature=player_embedded
How are things in your world? :-)
The trick is to let the dog lick the plates and platters before loading them into the dishwasher...
Yeah, it saves rinse time, and the dog is a “ happy camper “
Ahyezzz...but yesterday was a good day. Homemade turkey, mashed potatoes, pie and whipped cream. It has been years since I made any of them...no one to cook for. LOL!
Thanksgiving #2 on tap for today. Yesterday was my side. Food, drink, and sedition. Today, her side. More food, somewhat less drink, and firearms...
I love the holidays. ;-)
Although, be sure to leave the dog outside long enough for it’s next potty break. Turkey fat has a tendency to slick the innards...
I had a rather unusual Thanksgiving dinner yesterday....VERY retro in theme.
Do any of you have recipes for leftover Pteradactl ?
Pteradactyl that be..
We were not planning on making anything for yesterday except some cranberry sauce (Everybody loves Mrs. Liberty’s cranberries!). We were going over to my folks’ house where Mom was planning on doing the majority of the cooking. Then, my mom got sick over the last weekend, wasn’t in the mood for visitors, and had to cancel. Well, we weren’t going to let them go without, so we rustled up the stuff to make *two* dinners (One for them, the other for us). We went from no work to double work, but we were happy to do it for our parents.
It wasn’t perfect: We discovered their rolls were still in the oven when we got back from the Meals on Wheels delivery. But we had done another Meals on Wheels Tuesday, and we did not forget anything for the chicken & dumplings dinner that night. Mom was having appetite troubles, so we jump-started her with her favorite dish.
Mrs. Liberty cleaned the kitchen up last night so I just have some minor clean-up details to do around the house in preparation for the housekeepers’ regular Saturday visit tomorrow. All the extra work yesterday did not kill either of us, even though we’ve both been in a lot of pain in recent weeks (I still hurt from the surgery last month).
We never leave the house on “Black Friday” (we stopped exchanging Christmas gifts years ago) so life is very good this morning, especially now that we’ve had our morning dose of Tax-Chick’s kittehs. We are both feeling pretty good today. Well, I will as soon as I pop a pain pill. We may venture out this weekend to deliver a batch of Goulash we whipped up the other day.
The only thing I didn’t have on hand was pitted black olives. Still the pie and whipped cream were excellent, and the turkey should have been put in the night before at 200 degrees so it would fall off the bones.
I lost my recipe for leftover Pteradactyl after the last Ice Age, when the floods came.
That sounds like a very good day!
I didn’t do anything last night except fall asleep at 6:15, and I woke up this morning at 5:00, so I’m good. I took my time at making things, so I didn’t feel rushed. My kitchen is so small though, that it was hard to find work space.
Still the turkey leftovers are in the freezer, the bones are in the fridge awaiting the soup pot, and the dishes are all stacked. Monday is still three days away, but I really don’t want to call until then for the maintenance man to come.
Excellent diligence, Cyber Liberty. I’ve been to Walmart for general groceries and household needs, and to Petsmart for the urgently-required crickets. Poor Baby had only four yesterday, and the other reptiles got none! Now they are all full and happy.
No exciting shopping that I saw. Petsmart had dog beds half-off, but that was still too much. Walmart still has cheap sweet potatoes - I bought a lot and will cook and freeze them over the next few days. No discount turkeys.
You have enough population to outfit a small village at your place, so I see no way of escaping going out today. We’re just two “old folks.”
Happy Thanksgiving weekend! And keep the kittehs coming!
We could have made it with the grocery supplies a little longer, although everyone wouldn’t have had his first choice all the time. However, the crickets were an emergency!
You could modify the Pteranodon Carbonara recipe. Same way you’d modify a chicken recipe for duck... I’d use a fettuccine noodle instead of spaghetti too. Holds the sauce better.
I know the feeling. We've been known to make special trips to the store because we're run out of kitteh treats or Boarshead deli turkey (They shnub cheaper brands). The kittehs will give us no end of grief if we run out of either.
We can borrow cat food from the neighbors, if it’s a matter of life and death, but most people don’t (voluntarily) keep dozens of crickets around.
Serves you right for having bizarre pets.
:^)
I have no family, save for a brother in Toronto. I ate at my ministers house : )
