The UCMJ covers all the services - and the answer is NO for all of them. The only difference is the Navy Protesters should be tossed into the brig, while I believe the Army's home for them is called a stockade.
Scary comments though concerning our military. Glenn Beck on GBTV yesterday showed some facts about Gang members now entering all branches of the service, and he showed a large list of the gangs members that are known to me in our military. What happened to our Military during the Carter years (letting just about anyone in) is happening again, but much much worse. On Leftist Talk radio last night (Mike Malloy show) they played audio from a marine calling on all his fellow Marines to join the Revolution.
Scary times indeed.

I hope these erstwhile patriots are eschewing their veterans’ benefits. Dressing in uniform with medals is not illegal just tacky.
I was planning on making the Navy a career when I joined in 1977, but the Jimmy Carter Navy was not the same Navy my Dad was so proud of. I have never seen so much vermin, dope heads, drop outs, thieves, and slackers in my entire life. And then cram all of them into rooms of 60 or so in the innards of a big gray boat. FTN was common graffiti found written on walls and on letters home.
It was improving once Reagan took over, but at that time I already made planes for my life after my hitch. I expect the same thing is happening with our Military today, and stories like this must frustrate the Hell out of the good people in the Military.

I joined the national guard in 1972 as Nam was dying down. I had a high draft number so got into the TX NG, and will retire at the end of this year. I remember going to the cann point to get bolts, nuts, washers and cotter pins during the cattah years.
There wasn’t enough money to buy gas for mowers, so we had to use those “idiot sticks” to cut the grass. We had a few dope heads back then too, but once the drug testing came on board, they all got out.

but wearing the uniform at “civilian” functions is at the discretion of the service member such as a wedding, etc.
My mother loved it when my husband would wear his Navy uniform so every New Year’s, at their country club, he would wear his mess dress for her - this in CA. One year, some a**hole asked why he was dressed up for Halloween at the New Year’s party (CA libdim). My clever husband said if he was going to dress up for Halloween, he’d dress as an Army officer...
No flames. please... Husband went to Army War College proudly and we have many Army friends...cheers!
j. Wearing Army uniforms is prohibited in the following situations:
(1) In connection with the furtherance of any political or commercial interests, or when engaged in off-duty civilian employment.
(2) When participating in public speeches, interviews, picket lines, marches, rallies, or public demonstrations, except as authorized by competent authority.
(3) When attending any meeting or event that is a function of, or is sponsored by, an extremist organization.
(4) When wearing the uniform would bring discredit upon the Army.
(5) When specifically prohibited by Army regulations.
