A 100-lb Lego man washed up onto the beach at Siesta Key, Fla., this week, baffling local residents.
Jeff Hindman told the blog Boing Boing that he snapped this photo of the fiberglass statue when he discovered it on the beach.
Curiously, this is not the only reported instance of a giant beached Lego figure on record. In 2007, a similar statue washed ashore in Holland, and a year later another one surfaced in Brighton, England. The statue is called "Ego Leonard," and his shirt reads "No real than you are." The statues are believed to be the work of Ego Leonard, who is described by one Lego fan website as an "enigmatic Dutch painter."

Who took custody of the Lego-man? I’d like to put him out on my patio!

"enigmatic Dutch painter." What a coincidence -- that's how my business card describes me!

Hmm, is it any coincidence that LegoWorld is opening up in the next few weeks (or maybe now) in Orlando?
Good PR move.

Nice publicity for the company who makes Legos. And just in time for Christmas too.

I hate to say this, but that Lego has an uncanny resemblence to me. This last summer during my vacation, I was on the beach in the same position after I had to much to drink. I wish I knew where my wife put that picture.

I would have been worried, had it been a pair of severed Lego feet that had washed up on the beach.
