Real tough guys, eh?
How could a police officer do that to a tiny dog?
The usual reason -- they were all amped up for the big show and were ticked off things didn't go as planned, so they took it out on the family pet.
Pointing guns at kids seems to be the latest favored intimidation tactic.
It seems that not even the defend-the-cops-no-matter-what crowd is willing to defend it.

This is the best summary of this phenomenon that I have read yet.
I do not use drugs.
I don’t even like taking aspirin for a headache.
But I think it’s long past time to legalize recreational drugs, if for no other reason than to protect the general public from sadistic raids like this.
If they really, REALLY want to make a drug raid, why don’t they raid the Occupy vermin? Rhetorical question, I know. The reasons are political. That is EXACTLY the behavior of a police state, where some groups are “off limits” for enforcement, regardless of how lawless they are, while the police conduct “open season” random raids on the general public.
