Tropical Storm Rina has developed in the Western Caribbean Sea. Rina is expected to strengthen as it moves very slowly northward toward the Gulf of Mexico.

LOL! I got a great deal on the house because nobody could say when the roof had been replaced. Of course, that was back when Florida home sales were warming up before the crazy boom. The roof will outlast me too.

steel panels they're about 2' x 16" they fit together and get screwed down to plywood and tar paper on the roof

For sure,my kids live there and you guys get flooded out pretty regularly.Although what we had last week really was historic.

The worst before that was in 78' when we had 23"in 24 hours.The navy probably knows what this will do but I don't trust the rest.(Except for NN of course)

Navy by the way shows this thing at the Western tip of Cuba on the 30th and then heading Southeast away from Cuba/mainland after that,go figure.

The mods do a good job of bumping the hurricane threads to news when there is an imminent threat to U.S. interests.

Between you and me, I'd be happy if the hurricane threads never made breaking news because it draws the wacky Minnesota and Wisconsin trolls.

I’m gonna retract my statement from yesterday about ‘model convergence toward south Florida.’ Today shows a polar opposite. The models are all over the place.

There are model solutions taking Rina literally from Atlantic to Pacific. There are stalls. There are loops. The blocking high that’s gonna keep Rina out of the Gulf of Mexico is going to make her just sit and spin out there for a while... and when that happens, all bets are off.

So stay tuned.

It’s obvious that Rina is too tough to call right now.It will probably be a last minute take—too bad with a major event occurring in Key west this week. The Navy however is incredibly good at making these calls.
