Tonight Newt Gingrich spoke at the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition and then answered a few questions from a panel. Ive split the Speech from the Q&A and both are below.
Remember they tried that crap with Cheney...........
I could vote for him with the main reason being our Country is going to hell in a hand-basket. He knows it.
Terrific bumper sticker! Lol..!
He has actually been pretty honest about the global warming stuff and said that it was a mistake and he was wrong. As for his “baggage,” a lot of that was really just Dem innuendo. They basically made him resign because he had been successful at getting the Contract with America passed and they were out for blood, so they used a completely trumped up concern about sales of his book (which was neither illegal nor unethical) to attack him.
The biggest problem, IMHO, is that it’s not certain that the GOP establishment would support him. It was basically the GOP and not the Dems that took him down earlier. The GOP head honchos were actually embarrassed by his success and accused him of not being conciliatory enough and being too partisan, and when the Dems attacked, the GOP just cut him loose.
The question is whether the party heads will accept him again. I don’t think they will. They want a Romney/Cain ticket and I think that’s what we’re going to get.
No, Newt lives in Virginia.
“The conventional wisdom is that Newt has too much personal baggage, but does it really matter?”
NO....not when people learn and change from their mistakes. From what I can see, he has. I also like that Mr. Gingrich GETS the WHOLE picture of what needs to be done (this includes not only restoring our free enterprise system, but re-shaping thinking on what it means to be AMERICAN and have real freedom, rebuilding our national security, developing sound foreign policy)....
...AND....the fact that it will be difficult, with the left fighting such change the whole way. He seems to have FULLY thought this out. I LIKE it!
Too bad Newt got those BJ’s in the White House. Oops, got the wrong guy.
I guess people are being taken in by the negative propaganda being spotlighted so heavily on front runner, Herman Cain. It is too bad that the truth doesn’t get talked about on TV or written about in Establishment newspapers and magazines Herman Cain is not a politician! Herman Cain is a a family man, a church going man; an amazingly successful business man; a thinking man, an innovative man; a problem solver; a country loving American. He is not ambiguous, he is truthful and addresses ideals beyond the ken of many people.
He has always wanted to leave the world a better place than it was when he came into it. In fact he is someone we have not seen since Ronald Reagan, he is a statesman! He is not a man who is seeking power. He is a man who loves his country so much that he thinks he can fix it and folks, it is BADLY in need of fixing! He knows how to delegate authority!.
But don’t take my word for it. Read his book, “This is Herman Cain”. Then decide for hyourswlves who and what Herman Cain is.
We all know Newt’s a bright guy, great debater, but he’d be my last choice for the nominee.
I liked everything in that presentation!!!
Newt is a very bright guy and did one great thing back in 1994. He has shown time and again to be a person of manifestly bad character and a leader who puts his own ego and personal ambition ahead of the good of the party, movement, and country. Newt, get lost.
other way around
I have always thought one of Reagans worst mistakes waqs picking Geo. Bush... Ford would have been a lot worse. This article shows that Ford was willing to sacrifice Reagans election because of his lberal idiocy!!! Jack Kemp would have been better, Reagan had Carter on the ropes with the knockout punch on the way...he could have won with any pick!!!
Did he say he was in favor of defining person as at the moment of conception? If so, he has my vote and support.
I was hoping for Kemp as VP in 1980 but wasn’t too upset with the choice of Bush. Kemp had his chance in 1996 and turned out to be an absolute dud, even giving an embarrassingly bad performance in his debate with Al Gore. Of course, Jack’s brain had probably gone soft after being in D.C. for so long.
bttt!
I was apolitical. Didn’t know what liberal or conservative meant. I stumbled upon c-span and listened to Newt at GOPAC talk 45 minutes about our country and Contract With America. I was mesmerized. Changed my life. Found Rush (never heard of him) and Free Republic after that. All tied together. An amazing speaker, historian, and patriot. One of his many films is documenting God in our history and in our Washington landmarks and buildings. He blows away all the nonsense liberals have spread about our country not Christian nation.
